I won a match today by completing a Tetris that left the well completely empty. I've left the well empty many times before, but never with a clear that sent garbage for a win. Has this happened to anyone else before?
I don't think a bravo (TGM term for empty well) gives any extra points or garbage lines in TDS. In fact, I'm pretty sure that the TDS developers completely ignored the possibility of an empty well, given the push glitch (bravo causes pieces to fall past each other, and the first to disconnect loses) and the catch glitch (bravo caused by falling metroid causes center block to disappear, and no tetrominoes can be caught).
I think Bravo has an effect on TGM2 vs. mode .. If I recall properly in the match I played, I made triple(which was a bravo) with an L, but instead of sending 3 lines(with the holes shaped of the L), it gave double instead, meaning 6 lines instead of 3. Pretty devastating stuff.
I do it quite regularly, especially against people sub 5000, when I have a bit more time to think. I really like just waiting until they're high enough, and then finishing them off with a screen-clear Tetris.
It's pretty easy in Heboris versus, where you can play Defence mode, due to the automatic clearing of the bottom of the screen whenever you score doubles or greater. Is the bravo garbage reward in TGM2 true? I have to try it.
If you can Bravo a Tetris in TGM then it can make a pretty big difference in score and help get a higher grade if you're stuck in the S5 region. That said, it requires a gift from the randomiser of giving you the exact piece you want, which very rarely happens.
It doubles the normal send, which means ?/4/6/8 instead of 0/2/3/4. I don't know what a bravo single sends.
