Re: [ALL GAMES]Best 40 lines after the recent maserati record, i starting to be interested by this 40 lines challenge. i mostly play TGM, and use an arcade stick. ARS (+ arcade stick) is good as long as there is ARE delay. But playing 40 lines efficiently require 0G, SRS and no ARE. Even If the next big speed improvement must use mind control interface, surely Keyboard layout can be optimised. Now i think about a new gameplay system implementation especially designed for 40Lines time attack. what are the "40 Lines" gameplay specification ?

This notice disapoints me..Really, the fastest shirase japan players (zab, 309) play above the 4 TPS of maserati (with a stick !!!), and they are on ARS 20G..anyway..You met those people, I should not teach you anything about that.. DIGITAL is around 30 sec with ARS 20G, and he doesn't practice as much as maserati and jono.. Can you explain WHY SRS should be more efficient at 0G ?? Really ?? I am waiting for mechanical and logical arguments.. Sorry, but whatever you or anybody can say, there is no proof today to pretend that the max potential TPS is with SRS 0G, and not with ARS 20G.. I am tempted to think that ARS 20G is more powerfull..I apologize heh ! but kan, and few other broke the 4 TPS on TI before maserati..
Re: [ALL GAMES]Best 40 lines I've shown in the past on more than one occasion that SRS requires less keys per tetromino than ARS. I'm not saying you're any more likely to play faster with SRS than ARS, but it is definitely "logical" that you can fit more pieces dropped in the same amount of keys with SRS.
Re: [ALL GAMES]Best 40 lines For 20G the nature of the wallkicks generally provides better speed with ARS assuming you're not stacking like an idiot. For 0G the ability to rotate I's to the left, and also the extra S and Z rotation states give rise to extra finesse, and therefore the potential for greater speed.
Re: [ALL GAMES]Best 40 lines Well, sonic drop allows for kicks to be used with 0G ARS. The kpt will only go up with this, but like I've said many times before kpt is stupid and there is a clear benefit here because of parallel input.
Re: [ALL GAMES]Best 40 lines Parallel input aside, sonic drop (as well as soft dropping for that matter) is a poor choice for 40 lines. You're having to drop the piece twice (one for sonic, one for locking). When you only need to clear 40 lines, you should be playing well enough not to need kicks and soft dropping.

Re: [ALL GAMES]Best 40 lines there is no point about SRS vs ARS here. I just see a style exercice and basic constatation.
