Very intersting..I played it a moment few months before getting TGM1..

It is close to the SRS but with 0 wallkick !

 

Hey Amnesia, I own that game, we can play it on my SNES when you come to visit. You know, while we're eating or something, and therefore not playing TAP or Ti.

 

Or sleeping..

 

The game is "super tetris 3" by bps, for super famicom. It's the one with Sparkliss, the Bombliss variant where the bombs explode in a + shape like Bomberman bombs.

 

Well, it has TNT colors, I'm assuming it also has the same rot system.

 

Super Tetris 3 colors: blue I, orange J, green L, violet O, cyan S, yellow T, red Z
TNT/TNT/TOD colors: cyan I, blue J, magenta L, gray O, green S, yellow T, red Z

The only matches are T and Z. In fact, J and L are almost photographic negatives.

The New Tetris has vaguely Tengen-like behavior for JLSZ rotation (see wiki for details), not the rotation-about-center-of-minimal-bounding-square behavior seen in Tetris 2 + Bombliss, Tetris Blast, Super Tetris 3 (seen here and in Master K's ST3 video), Tetris DX, and SRS games.


Or did you mean The Next Tetris? I haven't played that much. I wasn't much of a PS1 fan during that era.

While doing research to find reliable sources for a claimed Tetris movie, I decided to check Tetris.com to see if there was any official announcement. I found this:
