    Hi forum,
I don't know what you think about TwinGalaxies, but I just want to share the video of my official TwinGalaxies original GameBoy Tetris world record (690983 Points).

    Twin Galaxies means:
    - no pause
    - no emulators
    - no cheats
    - no glitches

My pb are 889,000ish points which I achieved in the mid-90ies ... I've been practicing a lot recently, so I might be able to hit that mark again...

  2. It still amazes me that so many people who play these games for high scores don't use both rotate buttons.

What are your rules for this? Do you care if we use an emulator? Is a picture enough verification to make it onto your leaderboard, or must we make a video?

Edit: And can we pause? Because I will almost definitely pause regardless, I frequently have to help out around the house and such.

Why did you write the same thing twice?

I'm afraid we all know what Twin Galaxies means. :|

  5. When I first read this topic this morning, his first post didn't appear properly, I guess it reappeared after he wrote the same thing again.

I saw the thread when it was first posted. This morning for some reason the OP's post was gone and Kasumi's reply became the OP. I wasn't logged in I'm afraid so I'm not really sure what happened. Maybe the original OP was accidentally deleted? ^^

    Great scores Uli! I don't think I've ever gotten a score over 300000. ^^'

  7. great job!

when will you release your unpublished works?

  8. Are Gameboy scores not published here or is it a format that people here just don't play? I always thought the Gameboy version was great.

  9. Game Boy is not in strong favor due to a few aspects of its design that are generally seen as flaws. For one, it bears a very strong emphasis on physical execution over anything else; the default piece speed is nigh useless, so the d-pad must be rapidly and continuously tapped left or right to exceed it. Moreover, the game hits a sustainable speed at Level 20, so maxing out the score counter mostly involves maintaining a rapid tap rate and merely surviving for long enough rather than aiming to maximize tetrises. The piece randomization is also deeply flawed. Overall, it is considered less polished when it comes to high level play.

If you're looking for a game with similar feel, NES Tetris and SNES Tetris + Dr. Mario are in the same "Nintendo family" of games but offer mechanics refinements that address the issues present in GB. Of the three, NES has the hottest competition, but SNES also gets some play and has some quirks that differentiate it from its predecessor.

  13. Nice job, I just started out playing GB Tetris the other day because of some for-fun competition in a local Facebook group, and holy hell I HATE IT :o One thing is the useless DAS, bod god damn that randomizer just doesn't favor living people.

My record so ar is just barely 400K, and getting anywhere above that definitely takes some kind of skill I'd say. At the very least an incredible amount of stamina.

Had another tetris ready and got the I piece, but couldn't get it over to the left side fast enough as I was stacked pretty high up. Think it was around level 16.
    I want to achieve 500k.

  15. My buddy did this back in March.
