Small improvement, this time with video: Level 463 in 3:00:16 Video is muted cause copyrighted audio. Wasn't able to get the M this year either (in fact, I was even 4 levels worse than last year ), but hey, it's alright. I just don't have the muse to do the necessary practice and grinding. I had fun anyway.
I got a 198. It seems I wont have time to attempt to get a better score. Not home so I will share the time later.
Been having some hand pain issues lately, so I sadly wasn't able to play much this week. Still managed to eke out a few 400s, the best being a 429 (in 3:13:35).
"Taunting Death... means pitting oneself against a wily enemy who cannot lose." And with that, the Carnival of Death 2018 has come to an end. 58 scores from different players all over the globe have been submitted. 12 of them were Ms (not counting GMs as Ms here), and 9 of 58 got the rank of GM. In total, this years Death Toll was 30477, which is far below the overall best Toll (42045 in the year 2017) and a tiny bit below the second best Toll (30520 in the year 2016). For now, this year is therefore rank 3 of all Carnivals. This is mostly because less people participated (in 2017, there were 89 participants). The average score was 525.4655172 (so the average person got an M), and 9 new personal bests have been set by 8 different people. Thanks to @eskatre for collecting those stats about the last years: Thank you all so much for participating! Even though this year wasn't as successful as last year, I hope you still had fun. If you have played a game during the Carnival but just didn't post it yet, feel free to do so and I'll include it to the Death Toll. Also, if you spot a mistake in the leaderboard, or if I forgot to include someones score, please let me now. See you all next year!
So comparing to the previous years' statistics, it may seem grim as we had a lower death toll than both 2016 and 2017. However, one thing that is good to see is the quality of our players' scores is increasing. Using 2017 as an example, we had an average Death score of 472. Not bad. Nearly averaging M grades. Now we look at this years score and see the players are averaging 525. over 50 levels higher than last year! Good job everyone!
