So I re-wired my joystick for USB and played one single game of Sudden to test that it works... For a second there I thought I was about to GM on texmaster before getting it on the TAP PCB sitting next to me!
Oh... So does it work? Seriously though, what kind of adapter do you use? I'm greatly interested in that!
Yup, it seems to work Actually, last night I only connected the joystick switches to the USB PCB, not the buttons, so I was playing with one hand on the joystick and the other hand reaching over to my keyboard to rotate! Once I'm done wiring it I'll take some photos and make a post about my modded HRAP in the hardware subforum.
My time on this leaderboard was so bad that I can actually beat it with stick hah. (best time so far with stick has been on the actual game, 9:45 or so, still about a minute away from keyboard scores)
Nice! A couple of tetrises during the last couple of sections would have gotten an S9, keep it up. Nice times too
Also, this was a bit painful (especially considering the first section was 56s): Overall, I'm pretty much almost where I was with kb... it's taking longer than I expected to get faster hah EDIT: scratch that!
Congratulations, really nice Ms around guys! As usual, Death 500+ is very good for practice in my opinion so... I'd say give it a try
Thread necromancy, engage! Wishing I could get as good a run in MAME TAP, but hasn't happened yet (I'm playing significantly faster than this nowadays, so maybe that's not surprising), so I might as well post it somewhere. 456 @ 3:30:43
Sudden GM @ 5:50:66 Kind of came out of the blue. I was just chugging away at the game and found myself at 850. I tried to keep the second half simple -- staying low and doing many low line clears. The ancient wisdom never fails.
Video Not a record per se, this belongs in the nonexistent 'max tetrises' or 'score attack' category, but feels great nonetheless. There's still some room for improvement as the shaky 700-800 section clearly shows.
