dragging a piece around with the hook down doesn't offer too much mobility, especially if it snags on something, then you can't rotate it for example, without initially rotating this it'll never reach the right side (most pieces would kick to the right but Ls and Js specifically don't rotate when hooked on something - with one very specific exception involving an overhang) so it's definitely a good idea to prerotate them most of the time S and Z i rarely IRS though, since i like having that flatter side down (then again my PB is 137 so take my advice with some salt)
OOOOOOH YEAH ! I joined the 500 club Time is slow but I was really not taking any risks from 300 to 500.
I'd say it's the correct thing to do. Though a lot of the piece manoeuvrability also comes from the stack in general which is why pyramid stacking and leaving and 2-deep gap on column 9 is very common in 20G scenarios.
Finally got a new PB. I've been playing the 300 section much more cleanly over the last few weeks, it's finally not *too* fast for me any more, so I can get an okay stack going into 400, which is still too fast.
Finally. Have some work to do on the time but I have joined the 500 club after being stuck in 480+ for months.
