New personal best: 425 in 03:16:55 This thread is also outdated, my last record was a 411 and it had my 396 on here. Also muf got a new record on the last page (so I didn't beat him by 1 level.. ) and I'm sure others aren't updated either.
Got past level 300 for the first time. My stack was pretty low and clean, but for some reason I keept manual locking and topped out almost instantly.
That's pretty much what I've been doing though if I want to pass level 400 I've got to get used to the level 300 spike. So at this point I'm forcing myself to manual lock yet my consistency is horrible whilst I do that.
Nice job everyone! It's hard to express with words how glad I am to see the community develop, but there's something that goes far beyond even that : Seeing people get better at Death. Because, let's face it. It's basically the best thing in the entire universe. I would be streaming this 24/7 if I were a lich. Looking at the recent videos I can see so many different viable ways to get to 500, M, GM. Some people play it clean, some others play it fast and nervous. Some people make that huge comeback and you get that technical move or that solid twist. There are so many different types of reads that are relevant for a nice placement that solves everything and I see so many different attempts at that in the recent posts. I can't wait to see people get even better at this. I'm so glad people are playing this mode. I hope all of you manage to demolish your objectives Keep up the good work!
This leaderboard is now updated. Everything since Sept 2013 has been considered when updating and anything before then will have been missed. Mostly the thread seemed to be intact until around August 2015 at which point the updates seem to only catch about 50% of the actual scores, especially missing new names on the board (unless @Redlof_b @m.kevin @boingloing and @FreakyByte have different existing names on the leaderboards in which case I've accidentally duplicated them). I've also spotted and fixed a few minor errors created in the process, that were actually because the original leaderboards I was copying from had a couple of people in the wrong placement order - there may be ones I've not noticed. Leaderboard now has new format, and associated spreadsheet that it's working from is here If people would like to volunteer to be added to the list of spreadsheet editors please let me know because there's no way I'm going to be able to maintain all of these myself! The format has been tweaked slightly (it now has spaces instead of a shitton of dashes). Links to non-record videos have been dropped, primarily because I can't see a way to include it that both keeps the clarity of the links (i.e. they're not all called vid1, vid2, vid3, which I think would render it fairly redundant anyway) and which doesn't massively up the complexity of the spreadsheet and maintenance just for the sake of keeping the links there. If I'm honest I don't really see why non-PB vids matter all that much except purely for posterity, though I'll revisit how to do this for the Master leaderboards where I feel there's more merit in the idea (for very fast green line Gms, etc). Even so if there aren't people who feel particularly strongly about keeping them, I might drop them there as well. In circumstances where a PB with a video has been replaced by a PB without the video (FeV, for example), I've kept the old video link in there as a "best recorded video" sort of thing, rather than delete the link just because it's no longer the actual PB.
It turns out that playing a lot of Death mode helps you get better at it, who knew? I managed a 451 @ 3:20:68.
On that note, just would like to point out that I have a better video at hand than the one linked, it is a 546: twitch.tv/feviolet/v/56779975
Thanks for your work Rosti, I will try to post an updated score (hopefully with a new carnival entry) tonight, because i've been doing 420+ scores for 6 months now ! Not 500, but i did recall reaching 47X. EDIT : Annnd its done.
