Location is 100% confirmed! We will be holding the meeting at Het Glaspaviljoen! It's a glass box of tessellated second hand windows that are held together by stacked shipping containers. In other words: the perfect location for Tetris. It's about twice the size of my living room in terms of floor space, there's a big table and two couches. Google Maps 360 view of the interior We will probably be cooking something for everyone to eat on Thursday, and if the weather permits hold a barbecue (in lieu of Geertpizza) on Friday. There is a big beam screen on the wall where I'll be projecting the live stream. The earlier mentioned lodging space is a loft in the building next to the container park (Anton), and it's actually €35 the first night and €12.50 for consecutive nights. So it'd be €60 for Thursday to Saturday night. There are two one-person beds, one sleeping couch, a toilet/shower, and floor space for additional inflatable mattresses or whatever. Bedding material will be provided for three persons. If people want to rent it and share the costs, I will need confirmation at least two weeks in advance so the loft can be reserved for the meeting. We can basically go on 24/7, so we'll just see when people get tired and have some kind of quiet time for people sleeping on the floor/couches. Keep in mind that we could go on until 3 or 4 at night so if you're a morning person, you may be better off sleeping in the loft or at my house. That's all I can think of for now, let me know what you guys think!
I will make this path by car, if it can help someone in any way for the travel. It is free I ask 0 money, I am proposing this because anyway I will make the road by my own. Friday 25th, end of afternoon - evening, and I go back to France on the Sunday 27th. If I had to cancel the meeting for any reason, I would try to alert here the soonest possible.
That location looks sweet, waow! But I have to announce that nope, I can't attend after all, because of problems that won't get solved in time by now. :/ Anyways, have fun! I wish I can come next time. (Please be a next time! )
Just a heads up (especially to Muf who is expecting to borrow an extra camera), I may not be able to make it after all There's a lot of stuff coming up in September, and I might have to move soon, so my personal life is really busy.
By the way, the Facebook page for the event is here: https://www.facebook.com/events/448173082016464/
I just booked my tickets. @Muf Let me know if you want me to bring some hardware. (NTSC NESRGB + Tetris, Pexhdcap, VisionRGB-E2s, Taito F3 + Bubble Bobble 2 are things off the top of my head)
I'd love some of that hardware, specifically the NES and the Vision card, but are you staying the full 4 days?
In that case I think I'll go with my own AV Famicom and Jago's VisionRGB-E1, as I intend to have the stream up before 5pm on Thursday and keep it running for as long as people play on Sunday.
If anyone wants to sleep in the loft nearby the location, I need to know before Thursday the 10th of September! The more people sign up, the cheaper it'll be.
Me ! I have not looked at all about accomodation.. I am sure Eindhoven is expensive generally. I come from Friday evening to Sunday
Eff all that, I'm coming! A lot of stuff ended on my side, and things have gotten way better so I can even take a day off and come on thursday evening. Get ready guys! I'll sleep in the loft, provided it's not a cat loft, so get me with Amnesia for that one
Take the 401, and get off at Strijp S. The Glaspaviljoen is straight ahead after crossing the street. Also, does anyone else have a TGM1 PCB they can bring for The Masters on Saturday? We still haven't been able to gather enough TGM1 PCBs to do a real Pier21-style The Masters with 4 screens and 8 simultaneous players.
If you can contact Edo somehow there's a possibility I can pick up his? Anyone else in the UK (e.g. Ex_Mosq) is probably a bit far away to get it to me by Wednesday considering I'd only have evenings after work to make a trip.
