1. Why did you start playing Tetris? Can you also please specify how long you have been playing and if you consider yourself a great player? What Tetris games do you play and how much do you play? Sometimes I play Game Boy Tetris when I have some free time at work, when I'm in my room I mostly play PAL NES Tetris i also like Tetris Plus on PS1 and a little bit of Nullpomino (I just started playing Grade Mania mode). 3. At this point i'm playing Startropics on NES ,Micro Machines 3 and R-Type Delta on PS1, also like Marble Madness and lots of other classic games. 4. Any other block/puzzle games you enjoy? Dr.Mario , Tetris Attack ,Puzznic. 5. How did you find out about tetrisconcept? I started getting more into Tetris and I searched the web for some info and the site was just there.

1. Why did you start playing Tetris? Can you also please specify how long you have been playing and if you consider yourself a great player? I started tetris way back on the gameboy, I was terrible but it was a start. I've played here and there casually. I used to play a bit of Tetris Friends and Tetris DS (Of course, still playing terribly). I, like many people saw the great showing of Tetris at AGDQ. It was a great show and made me gain some intrest in a game I was so bad in. I really started to jump into playing Tetris when KevinDDR got TI Gm on stream. That vod made me really want to start playing and try to better myself and my though process. I've been playing the TGM series now for about 2 months. 2. What Tetris games do you play and how much do you play? I currently play TGM and TAP. 3. What other games besides Tetris (if any ) keep you busy? I mostly play PC games, The big one grabbing my attention currently is Hotline Miami 2. I also play Super Smash WiiU 4. Any other block/puzzle games you enjoy? Bust-a-Move 5. How did you find out about tetrisconcept? I found tetrisconcept by using the wiki for TGM info.
1. I started playing because I get it with an old SNES, then, I started playing it on pc, trough emulators, and now I'm playing on my Father's PSP and on my NDS; I started in 2008~2009, I think, and Almost, I can normaly play it on lvl 20, so, I think that I'm just a Good player. 2. Actually, just started with TAP, but I play Tetris (MINI), from PSP and Tetris DS & Tetris Party Deluxe, from NDS. 5~10 hours in a week, I only play in my free time. 3. Touhou, Osu! and some fps games, I think. 4. Columns, Bejeweled 2, Jewel Quest, Jewel Quest Solitarie and Puyo Puyo 7. 5. Searching for TGM/TAP/Ti things. ( Sorry for any errors, I'm brazilian. )
Well, as I'm a new member, I'll answer this to get myself known. 1. I started playing Tetris when, as a kid, my mom bought me one of those cheap 9999-in-1 handheld games, and all I played on it was Tetris and its variants. I always had it as a time-killer, until I saw Kitaru, KevinDDR and the TetrisConcept crew at the recent AGDQ. Those levels of play got me into trying to play Tetris more and better than before. Some time later, while I was at an arcade, I inserted a coin on a multigame machine and started looking for any game that seemed interesting, and guess what? I stumbled onto TGM1! Since then, about a month and a half ago, I play Tetris at the highest level I can. Whether it's at the arcade, with friends on Facebook or just Texmaster, it's a great way to entertain myself, develop skills and pass the time. 2. Tetris Battle on Facebook almost daily and Texmaster, also almost daily. 3. The one game that keeps me busiest, besides Tetris, is osu! I've been playing osu! for about 3 years now, and I think the speed skills somewhat transferred to Tetris as I took it more seriously. 4. If Carcassonne counts as a puzzle game (which I'm pretty sure it is), then that. I suck at it though 5. As I said before, at AGDQ 2015, the guys talked about tetrisconcept.net, and curiosity led me here. Aside from that, I recently discovered BEMANI games, and am addicted to them. Pretty much all music games are like an addiction, whether it be Guitar Hero or beatmania or anything else in between. If there's anything else you'd like to ask, feel free to reply or PM me. See you around!
1. Why did you start playing Tetris? Can you also please specify how long you have been playing and if you consider yourself a great player? I started playing Tetris on my old gameboy, until recently it was the only kind of Tetris I played. I think I suck badly at Tetris but I still hope to get better A couple of months ago I wanted to code a small game in C++ (I'm an IT student) and so I thought about Tetris. While doing some research on the internet I saw the INVISIBLE TETRIS video and so my little side project became much more complicated as I wanted to replicate TGM's series behaviour (It's still not finished for the moment) So this is how I've started playing TGM and TAP. 2. What Tetris games do you play and how much do you play? TGM and TAP on MAME, a few times a week. 3. What other games besides Tetris (if any ) keep you busy? Guitar Hero, Minecraft, Warcraft III, TF2. 4. Any other block/puzzle games you enjoy? I'm not sure if 2048 counts here ? 5. How did you find out about tetrisconcept? While doing research on the internet for my game I came across tetrisconcept's wiki which made me discover the nice community here PS: I'm French so I'm sorry if my English isn't the best '''
Good morning! Finally got off my butt and registered. 1. Why did you start playing Tetris? Can you also please specify how long you have been playing and if you consider yourself a great player? Started ages ago (sometime in the mid-late 80s?) on a PC port called Double Blocks before eventually getting a gameboy. Started playing Tetrinet a lot in college back in '01 (ended up dropping out because i'd skip class to play) and kind of on again/off again until recently. 2. What Tetris games do you play and how much do you play? I've been hitting a lot of TGM1 on MAME lately, though only maybe an hour a week, so not very much. PB is TGM1 S2, so I have a ways to go. 3. What other games besides Tetris (if any ) keep you busy? League of Legends, IIDX, Zelda: A Link to the Past, Startropics, Lufia 2, FFXIV, Picross, used to play a lot of Rock Band 4. Any other block/puzzle games you enjoy? Picross is my jam (though I've only dabbled in the PC nonogram scene). Mr Driller is also awesome. 5. How did you find out about tetrisconcept? I'm one of the riders of that AGDQ wave, I guess
sup? 1. Why did you start playing Tetris? Can you also please specify how long you have been playing and if you consider yourself a great player? I saw family playing NES Tetris when I was very young and got hooked immediately. I played Tetris DS a lot until there wasn't any challenge remaining for single player. After seeing TGM games, realizing how high the skill cap can get, and playing a bit of it myself, I know there's still a lot of improvement to make 2. What Tetris games do you play and how much do you play? Mostly clone Tetris games now. I wish there was a way to support the TGM series without huge cost or distance, but oh well. I've been playing more regularly now that I'm close to GM on the equivalent of TGM1 3. What other games besides Tetris (if any ) keep you busy? Poker is pretty cool 4. Any other block/puzzle games you enjoy? A ridiculous amount 5. How did you find out about tetrisconcept? AGDQ and other Tetris players on Twitch streams. It's soothing to watch for some reason
Since I keep posting here quite regularly, I think a bit of introduction is necessary ! 1. Why did you start playing Tetris? Can you also please specify how long you have been playing and if you consider yourself a great player? I started Tetris when I was quite young, on a pocket console, making lines on weekends... Then I stopped playing, and rediscovered the game with Tetris DS. I played the game like a madman and tried to beat every challenge the marathon/battle game offered to me. I lost the cartridge some day and never played again. Then I saw the jin8 TGM3 GM video and was like : wtf is this game ? After that, I ended up visiting the excellent website of PetitPrince which led me to play Texmaster around November 2013. Then I got TGM1 GM last december and now I'm trying to reach S9 in TGM2 ! 2. What Tetris games do you play and how much do you play? TGM1/2, every week for at least 3h. 3. What other games besides Tetris (if any ) keep you busy? I play a lot of DDR at the local arcade, and various PC games. 4. Any other block/puzzle games you enjoy? So far, nothing did really interest me apart from Tetris 5. How did you find out about tetrisconcept ? I found the site to be regulary named in various TGM-related articles (blogs, videos etc)...
Yeeeaaaaahhhhh French rep sisi! We should organize meetings at local arcades at some point, it would be a funny thing in Paris at least! Welcome everyone else, stuff is hectic to keep track of and there's a lot of you... Why don't you participate in the Death toll so we can get to know each other?
1. Why did you start playing Tetris? Can you also please specify how long you have been playing and if you consider yourself a great player? I started to play Tetris at a very young age. There was always a NES in the home and it had an awesome multi cart. 115 in 1. Look it up. Anywho it had multiple versions of Tetris and I would just play it. I would suck but it was fun. Growing up I would mainly play Tengen Tetris since it was the main one I played on the NES because of the vs mode. I would consider myself a better then average player. 2. What Tetris games do you play and how much do you play? Let's see...I own a lot of Tetris games. The only one I play regularly right now is TAP. I switch between NES Tetris and Puyo Puyo Tetris for casual gameplay. I own both Xbox One and 3DS versions of PPT so if you want to play online together let me know. 3. What other games besides Tetris (if any ) keep you busy? I play a lot of the Puzzle League of Panel De Pon games. Every friday so far. Besides that I play many games. Spanning all genres.. Recently I've been speedrunning Goof Troop for fun with friends. But the game will change basically every week. I have nice collection of games spanning many consoles so I have way to many games for my own good to play. Eventually I'll get through all of them. 4. Any other block/puzzle games you enjoy? Puzzle League is fun. I have issues with it being colour blind but I still trudge through. I used to play a lot of Meteos as well when I had to do bus commutes to school and back. Dr.Mario is fun even though I am terrible at it. I did try Wind and Water Puzzle Battles once. That game is also fun if you ever get the chance to try it out. Very hard however when you get to the later stages. 5. How did you find out about tetrisconcept? About 2 years ago when I learnt about the TGM series I found this site. I would lurk every now and again since playing TGM was something I didn't do often but when I remembered it existed I would remember about the site. Now that I am very into the series I figured I would actually post something.
I've been lurking for a few months now, but I finally signed up, I think I should introduce myself! 1. Why did you start playing Tetris? Can you also please specify how long you have been playing and if you consider yourself a great player? I played gb tetris way back when I was a kid, but I don't remember if I was any good or not. Since AGDQ I've been playing with the intent of getting decent. I'm improving, my best grade is an s4 (it was incredibly sloppy). I consider myself to be alright at secret grade, with an s4 there as well. 2. What Tetris games do you play and how much do you play? I have so far only played TGM1 in MAME. I've looked at finding a PCB but it's hard to find anyone selling them in AU. I'm also playing with a keyboard (DAS Ultimate S, really nice keyboard imo), but I'm probably going to transition to a joystick asap. I've clocked up about 200hrs now in TGM1. 3. What other games besides Tetris (if any ) keep you busy? I play a bit of DotA2 (I'm terrible!), occasionally I'll play a bit of Banished, but that's mostly it for the last year or so. 4. Any other block/puzzle games you enjoy? Not really. I've played Bejeweled Blitz in the past and it was fun. 5. How did you find out about tetrisconcept? A mixture of googling and AGDQ. I knew it existed after AGDQ but I forgot the name of the site.
1. Why did you start playing Tetris? Can you also please specify how long you have been playing and if you consider yourself a great player? I started playing Tetris when I got the Game Boy version back in 2006 for Christmas. I wanted it because I heard it was the classic handheld game, and it did deliver on all fronts. After the novelty of it wore off, I would basically use it to kill my Game Boy Advance SP battery when it got low or to just pass the time every once in a while. In a nutshell, I have been casually playing Tetris for about nine years now, and am decent player at best; I start to crumble when I get to Level 10 >_> 2. What Tetris games do you play and how much do you play? I still play GB Tetris every now and then, but my main game is PSP Tetris. It's a PSP mini (minis are download-only titles that have to be 100 MB or less in size), and it is (from what I can tell) a very solid modern Tetris game that goes by the Tetris Guideline and has 12 variants (not including Marathon). In the past week or so, I play every day for about 30 minutes. 3. What other games besides Tetris (if any ) keep you busy? I like Mega Man, Zelda, Metroid, Street Fighter, Super Smash Bros., or almost anything else that's generally "old-school". I play very few modern games, and the modern games that I do play usually have some kind of competitve or co-operative aspect to them (Halo, Destiny). Lately, I've specifically been playing Destiny, Mega Man Unlimited, and The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. I also speedrun some of the games I play. 4. Any other block/puzzle games you enjoy? I liked Columns as a kid on the Sega Genesis; that was the first block puzzle game I've ever played. I liked Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords (Match-3 Puzzle/RPG game) a while back, but it was more for RPG elements (you would match pieces to defeat your opponent). Oh, and I really like Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo HD Remix! I need to play that game more often than I do. 5. How did you find out about tetrisconcept? I was watching a YouTube video of Awesome Games Done Quick 2015, and there was this French dude with a blue t-shirt that said "tetrisdonequick.com" on it. I came here after watching the mind-blowing Tetris runs that were featured on the video. I am coming here just to try and improve my Tetris play, whatever that may mean in my case. I'd like to be able to beat a Tetris game someday (is PSP Tetris beatable?), and I also really want to try TGM sometime; I strongly prefer playing games on arcade sticks, plus I like the presentation of the TGM series a lot just from watching it. Finally a random story: I used to know a guy who brought a Game Boy Pocket to college (keep in mind this was in 2008.) who could beat GB Tetris, and I never knew that Tetris was a game you could "win at" until then. I beleive he was one of the Top 10 players on a Facebook Tetris game, as well. You'd never know it by looking at him, but he was amazing at the game. I guess you could say that he was my first clue into the world of high-level Tetris.
People who are young enough to have been children when NES tetris came out are old enough to have children who themselves are now old enough to post on forums.
1. Why did you start playing Tetris? Can you also please specify how long you have been playing and if you consider yourself a great player? I started way back when I was a wee lad. My mom is actually a huge Tetris nerd ("I can't play anything with more than two buttons" - Mom, 2007) and she really got me into the series. She had it when she was a child on her NES, and I think I played Gameboy Tetris first. Fastforward about 8 years later. After getting into the speedrunning community, I found AGDQ, and I fell in love. I found the Tetris runs there, and I fell in love again. (I fall in love a lot) This is what I was looking for. A game with a steep difficulty curve, but a simple concept. I started playing, and haven't stopped since! I don't consider myself to be very great. However, I do consider myself a fairly good Big Mode player. I'm also not too bad at the Marathon+ semi-invisible challenge. Oddly enough, it just comes naturally to me. 2. What Tetris games do you play and how much do you play? I play TAP on MAME occasionally, a bit of TGM3, but mostly (as odd as it sounds) Heboris. NullpoMino a lot too, but mostly Heboris. (though I forsee Nullpo taking over, as I've gotten really into Extreme Big Mode) (also TASing the different modes is a lot of fun) 3. What other games besides Tetris (if any ) keep you busy? I used to play a ridiculous amount of PAC-MAN Championship Edition DX+. I'm actually fairly certain I have a few WRs in that game. (At least for short Time-Trials, because I know a few of them are TAS-perfect ) I also play a lot of Sonic Advance 2 ILs. (Hot Crater Act 1) Other than that, just look at my Backloggery in my signature. 4. Any other block/puzzle games you enjoy? Not really block puzzle games, but puzzle games in general are cool. Puzzle platformers are awesome. I love Portal. I love old-school adventure games. Bejeweled 2 Deluxe was probably the first game I every 100%-ed. 5. How did you find out about tetrisconcept? Like most others, AGDQ. Also, I couldn't ignore that sexy face.
Hi! I've been lurking for a while. Couldn't sign up because it was borked. Then it got fixed. AND NOW I AM HERE. I hope we can be friends. :* :**** 1. Why did you start playing Tetris? Can you also please specify how long you have been playing and if you consider yourself a great player? I'm not entirely sure lol, it's probably been one of those things that has been around my entire life that I've never paid too much attention to, but I can definitely say I'm one of the riders of the AGDQ wave. It was such a fun block to watch, and all the like, people representing it I guess, seemed pretty awesome and friendly! Oh yeah, I also definitely recall watching those crazy viral Tetris videos a long time ago as well. I couldn't even wrap my mind around them. And I'm definitely not a good player lol, I've just kind of picked it up again. I used to play when I was very very stressed out, as a distraction. I mean, I'm sure that will probably still be the case, but I would also really like to become very good! Currently, I'm terrible and my stacks often end up with many holes and resemble a fine Swiss cheese. Actually my stacks are just bad in general. :^) 2. What Tetris games do you play and how much do you play? I play NES Tetris. Like I said, I've just kind of picked up playing Tetris again so I haven't been playing toooooo much (plus there's a lot of other stuff I'm kind of juggling around at the moment argh there's too much to do, man... and then I just end up doing nothing anyway) I also find the TGM series to be pretty cool though and maybe I'd like to try it some day, if I'm ever able to. But, for right now, it's NES for me =) 3. What other games besides Tetris (if any ) keep you busy? The Pokemon series (wish I had more people I could battle with!), Persona series (played through 3 and 4, can't wait for 5... would like to try 2 someday), Valkyrie Profile 2, Sonic Adventure 1 & 2, just to name a few games / game series I like playing. Can almost guarantee there's more I'm missing. Plus some various online games/MMOs/whatever ya wanna call 'em. Oh yeah! This also reminds me that I need to get off my arse and beat Mother 3. Dang it why'd I stop I'm pretty much like at the end and I had tons of fun playing it 4. Any other block/puzzle games you enjoy? I find puzzle games to be really cool but I never seem to find myself playing them too often. Good ol' Bejeweled and its knock-offs is always great fun, and I've played some Aqua Aqua (it's actually just a "newer" Wetrix... which, I didn't know that version until I found this forum!) as well. Oh, and there's also this strange little GBA game I own called Egg Mania which is a block puzzle game, but it's not anything like Tetris (the pieces are way different and the concept is like, the opposite lol, you build to the top). It's weird and obscure, but it's actually a lot of fun. I'm sure there are probably more that I've played and enjoyed, too. 5. How did you find out about tetrisconcept? From AGDQ! Uhhh I think that's really all there is to say haha.
Hi everyone, glad to see the forum registration bug is fixed. I'm excited to finally join the Tetris community online. 1. Why did you start playing Tetris? Can you also please specify how long you have been playing and if you consider yourself a great player? KevinDDR was my pinball team captain last year. Like many things I've picked up again from childhood (pogoing, pinball, roller skating, Tetris) I saw someone else do it great & thought "I used to do that all the time!" I think I first played Tetris around age 5 on the Windows 95 version that only had hard drop. Later on I had a dedicated handheld Tetris game with soft drop and a max speed (level 20 in that game, I think---it was grey & blue with kind of a bulbous round bottom, if anyone remembers what it was [EDIT: It was called Big Screen Tetris! Found it in my old room when I visited home last month.]) manageable enough for me to play endlessly once I got good enough. I vaguely remember sustaining myself for an entire family road trip on only a few games, each hours long. And I had also played some Tetris Plus (PS2) & Tetris DS along the way, thinking they were super easy. So when Kevin did his thing at AGDQ, it was like Michael Jordan had come to stuff my childhood free throws in the parking lot. DANG! And I thought I was good at Tetris... 2. What Tetris games do you play and how much do you play? The day after AGDQ, I set about like mad trying to find a way to play Tetris. I think I settled for the old Atari arcade cab that day. I spent the next few days trying to get Texmaster to work on my Mac, only to realize that the lag was too great even for casual play. Within a week of AGDQ, I had picked up a free CRT on Craigslist for my old Windows desktop, which now exclusively runs TGM on Modded MAME, Texmaster, and Tetris Plus for GameBoy. (The puzzle mode in that is so hard!) I mostly play TGM, and I usually play every night for an hour or two. I've been playing for roughly four months now, and I just hit S5 this week. 3. What other games besides Tetris (if any ) keep you busy? Way back in the day I would have said Counter-Strike & Day of Defeat (this username is an ode to those days), but it's mostly just pinball these days. I've been playing pinball semi-seriously since 2007, competitively since 2011, and am presently on the undefeated Full Tilt Soda Jerks of Seattle's Monday night pinball bar league. 4. Any other block/puzzle games you enjoy? I think The Incredible Machine is as close as I've ever come to another puzzle game, but that's more like a point & click adventure. I love adventure games. (Did you know Dreamfall Chapters exists now?) 5. How did you find out about tetrisconcept? Some combination of AGDQ, Google, & Hard Drop led me here...
