Man this feels pretty cool even if nobody would ever watch it. I'm going to dick around with this, let me know what you think! http://www.twitch.tv/colour_thief
Very nice! Your internet seems to be a bit on the slow side for the bitrate you've chosen though, but that's only really an issue during attract mode.
I thought it was interesting to watch. It's always nice to have some footage of somebody playing, it makes you think about your game. I should do the same if have the time, I suppose.
Playing a bit now! Time to see if I can finally rebreak the torikan and if DeHackEd can pass his inevitable promotion test and/or beat me in versus.
Finally broke the torikan. It took me SK gold and a low stack. Hopefully I can speed things up from here.
I managed to get 3 bravos within 10 seconds, in TGM3 Big Mode (20G): http://www.twitch.tv/colour_thief/c/2181659
Just streamed some TAP for about an hour or so, if anyone is interested in it you can watch here: http://www.twitch.tv/kevinddr/b/397565851 I kind of ramble on to myself and respond to people in various chatrooms and Facebook for a while, and fail multiple times at getting a GM! There's some good moves in here and some not so good moves, and I tried to explain some of it as well as I could while playing. Soon I'll be able to stream from my arcade cab with a hands cam, too.
DeHackEd losing to me 11 times in a row in TGM ACE: http://www.twitch.tv/colour_thief/c/2231537 Worth a look just to see how versus was handled in ACE... it's very different from anything else out there. Probably not in a good way. But it's interesting.
3 minutes and 20 lines?!?! seems ideal strategy is to play tetromino tennis and get in the first swing. Opponent sends your tetris back at you? no problem! all that mans is you can do another one and get closer to 20 lines. and if it's NOT sent back to you, then you get o race on ahead while he does smaller line clears. I think it would be better with the time limit, but no line limit.
If you send Tetrises it's a losing strategy. You need to mix up doubles or at least get the kind of doubles/triples that force multiple line clears.
Were it not possible to win by clearing 20 lines i'd definitely agree. but with such a small goal, it being set back to you is simply not the big disadvantage it would seem to be. if they can send it back to you, you can nearly always return the favor. if it doesn't get sent back then the disadvantage of it is meaningless. If they dug down to it slowly, and manage to send doubles then while they sent you a few lines you've already sent them a second tetris. then you clear their garbage and send back the one they sent you, and you are at 4 lines left or nearly so.
