[IMG] We must be out of our heads. First of all, we both meant to say Special and Special Ti. And secondly, I meant to say Special Ti and not Special.

  2. Explanation of loop feature (I also put part explanation on WIKI):
You know what it means to loop a song, right? Usually with a CD player or WINAMP when you loop a song, when the song reaches the end, it 'loops' back to the very start of the song. In other words, it starts playing again at 0 (zero) seconds.
But with video games, like texmaster, sometimes we have a special intro part to a song that we don't to repeat. We want the song to loop back to 00:08:43, for example.

well, instead of saying "we want to loop the song back to 00:08:43, we have to tell Texmaster how many "Samples" after which to loop back. A sample is like a little piece of a WAV file. Thousands of samples are played within each second to produce a full pleasant sound. Usually, a WAV file has a format like this: 44.1 khz, 16-bit, Stereo. 44.1khz means 44,100 samples per second. 16-bit means each sample is 16 bits (2 bytes) in size. So if you wanted texmaster to loop your song to 8 seconds into the song, you would enter 44100 * 8 = 352800 into the bgm_special_loop.txt file next to your song's filename. some WAV files are different, so it is not always 44100 * x.

Hope this clears some things up for you.

has anyone gotten this to run on a mac?
it won't run for me. i have vm ware installed and play via linux. that works.

I would be stoked to run this natively on my mac.

  4. Are you running Leopard? Have you installed SDL? It should work.

yup, 10.5 and i installed sdl

the movement keys do not work. rotation keys work
i can change the key mapping and still have the issue. rotation keys take the new assignment, movement keys do not work.
also pieces spawn and then move to the left of the well. any ideas?

  6. Do you have a joystick or gamepad plugged in?

nope, i wonder if whatever is forcing the pieces to the left is causing the movement keys to be disabled?
I also tried commenting out the lines pertaining to the joystick. I've got the last gen mbp

  8. I can't get it work either. Nothing happens when I double-click the OSX's file inside the zip. Tried to rename it to Texmaster2009.app, it says that classic environement is no longer supported.

don't rename it, the easiest way for you would be to right click on the Texmaster2009 file and select open with Terminal.

  10. Still no result.
EDIT: nevermind, I changed the permission and everything works. Yay !

  11. I found a bug. About the Infinite mode. The first time you have started the game (and pressed any button to enable the main menu), and pressed right or left, the "infinite" text won't show, but the mode is enabled. If you get Game Over in any mode, the "Infinite" text will show as it should.

report: If you didn't know about it, here's a list of bugs DeHackEd has made (Texmaster in the bottom, the ones with + are solved): http://dhe.execulink.com/tgm-bugs.txt

I'm getting errors from my .bmp images. they are 320x240
the images i dl'd out of this thread worked. my images do not.

    Here is the error:
    ----
    Texmaster2009(1092,0xa01e7720) malloc: *** mmap(size=4294737920) failed (error code=12)
    *** error: can't allocate region
*** set a breakpoint in malloc_error_break to debug
    ----

*edit i am converting my files with OS X preview.
I haven't tried converting with something else yet.

*i used graphic converter to convert the images to .bmp on OS X and all is well. texmaster doesn't like the preview .bmp files.

  14. Hey, I put together a background back in the vein of TGM3 for Texmaster 2009. The backgrounds comes from a demo called Beyond by the hungarian group Conspiracy (go watch their stuff, they're awesome). Here are some screenshots of the pack in action:

    Those are nice, thanks!

  16. Found a pretty odd Texmaster bug. I say found, it was actually someone in my dorm called Nick Owen who uncovered it while seeing what all the F- keys did.

Pressing F3 in-game completely clears the screen, but doesn't stop you from playing. It basically just wipes the field and you continue. You keep your time, level, score, etc and if you die and it's a new highscore it'll put it in your records.
It breaks in the replay, but for screen-shots it's pretty exploitable.
Only works on the player 1 field.

Huffyuv. Then I convert the result of that into XviD or something similar using VirtualDub.

  20. How come you don't just go straight to XviD in Texmaster?
