Ok, so I've noticed that some threads disappear, and I've seen comments like "maybe we shouldn't talk about this..." etc etc.

Texmaster is often referred to as T*xm*ster or whatever when records are uploaded on YT. There haven't been a single Heboris clip uploaded on YT in like 5 months.

Why doesn't anyone ever discuss NDS TGM? It's freaking awesome you know... And why no discussion surrounding the impending "emulation" of TGM3?

I know about TTC's and ARIKA's fascist business tactics, but that makes it even more important to fuck with them. This isn't just about games you know...

Why don't you all just upload videos in the right names, talk about anything you'd fucking like, and give TTC the finger?

ps. This forum is painfully inactive.

  2. NDS TGM doesn't get discussed that much any more because it's no longer in development and there's been nothing new to discuss in fucking ages.

Texmaster videos are labelled as T*xm*st*r and the like on YouTube because they all get fucking pulled down if they're not. Easy for you to say that I should just label them properly, but I'm not losing another fucking YouTube account just so I can name videos properly.

How exactly are you giving TTC the finger SYN7HOR? I think it's a bit fucking rich of you to suggest that we should just go out of our way to invite TTC lawsuits onto ourselves and deal with all the hassle, rather than censor stuff. It's not like linking to TM or Hebo downloads on the forum is banned or anything. The only things that are banned and removed from the forum are things which we could definitely lose a lawsuit over.

We all have fucking lives, we don't have the time to continually deal with harassment from TTC, or to let them take us to court. We don't have the time to frequently fuck about having our YouTube accounts deleted, filing for it to be re-instated and getting it back a few weeks later, only to have it deleted again in a couple of months.

This forum is monitored by TTC, we know that. Some of our members have already got shit personally from Mihara over things that get said and posted here. There are certain things we want to keep fairly underground (for now at least) to protect ourselves, and I think we're fairly entitled to do that.

  3. Because we are adults who respect copyright laws ?

NDS TGM is a blatant infringement of copyright law; it uses assets taken directly from TGM3. Emulating TGM3 itself is again, an infringement of copyright law. Let me rephrase that to make it perfectly clear: they are ILLEGAL.

We talk about Texmaster, Heboris, NullpoMino, etc, quite freely; they use no copyrighted sounds or images so we're in the clear. But if we were to start publicly sharing copyrighted TGM sound files with every anonymous memeber that asks for them, then we may as well just start hosting child porn. What you're seeing is not censorship, but just the forum moderators trying to stay within the law, despite the best efforts of retards that keep on requesting roms and other illegal material.

  5. I know it's not what you meant, but this sounds kind of like you're calling anyone who breaks any law a pedophile...

I think Godwin's law may need to be adjusted to account for the fact pedophiles are being phased in as the new "most evil" or "most repulsive" person to compare someone to in an argument.

Hitler? Pfft, at least he wasn't a pedophile.

Not all of them get pulled. Is Arika still pulling this crap even after the string of DMCA counter-notices it got a year ago when it actually took down a protest video?

Seriously though, I'd like to think this place is pretty relaxed. Sure we don't encourage piracy, but it's really hard to fault us for that, no? It's a standard rule that all respectable sites follow.

As far as I'm aware, there isn't any censoring or moderating at all besides piracy-related things, because it's never been necessary. We openly talk about texmaster or whatever other clone we feel like. If you feel stuff is being unfairly moderated, then please bring it to our attention. We're reasonable people.

  10. As far as I can tell, there have been no further takedowns since the initial round of people actually going to the trouble of filing counter-notices ended. But that doesn't mean Arika/TTC won't try again at some future point. (Like, say, right before Master of Rounds is released.)

Firstly, I'm against current copyright laws - it has come to the point where they no longer encourage, but suppress innovation. This whole tetris-thing is a great demonstration of that. So legal or not doesn't concern me. This is a political issue, and being a proud member of the swedish pirate party, a big legit party, you can guess how I feel about TTC and Arika.

Secondly, I don't understand why you're so scared of them? What could they possibly do? We're just TALKING. I'm not asking for copyrighted files or childporn (yeah, piracy and pedophilia is the same thing, you tool...), I'm just asking for an open discussion on EVERYTHING surrounding tetris, including TGM3 emulation, which will be a blessing for those of us not able to put down 1500 euros on a board. Had they just ported TGM3 to Win/Mac/Linux I'd be the first to pay for it. I want an official, native TGM experience damnit!

I think it's quite sad that they've managed to scare you like this, but I'll shut up now. I'm all for democracy, and the majority have spoken.

    Questions of policy

There are two levels of "how do I pirate": "I can has ROMz?" and "I have this ROM; how do I run it?". Different forums have different policies about this. Rom█████ allowed both, Pocket Heaven allows the latter but not the former, and gbadev.org allows neither. On gbadev.org they discuss homemade GBA and DS games, and they don't discuss how to pirate commercial GBA and DS games. On TC we discuss tetromino games including homemade ones, and we don't discuss how to pirate Tetris.

This forum is far from heavily censored.

You seem upset about the fact that PetitPrince's most recent thread was deleted. Though I'm not even sure it was deleted by a mod or admin. PetitPrince himself made it clear that if the contents was deemded inappropriate, that he wouldn't mind it being removed. That kind of talk shouldn't happen over here on the forum in the open. Also PetitPrince linked to a video on Youtube with in the description a link to a website where the leaked game could be downloaded...

There's a NDS_TGM discussion thread somewhere and the game's been mentioned several times by a number of members. Apart from this forum there's harddrop with a shoutbox. And you can find people on different IRC channels, social network sites, etc. You just need to know where to look. ^^

  14. Aaah, so that's why it was removed. Sorry I should have paid attention to that sort of "details".

Not to mention every other forum in existence already had a quickly derailing thread about it, and no, we're not a forum about fighting games.

  16. As has been said, we're not banning talking? The only censorship is that people who request blatantly copyrighted material aren't getting it.

Ti isn't going to be emulated. It might be cracked and ported over, but emulation isn't likely to ever happen. If we were cracking it then I don't think we'd be too cowardly to not post about it in public and make it blatantly obvious to the likes of Arika who made the crack when it's released and spread around.

I don't see what's so wrong with us discussing illegal stuff in private rather than in public, for our own protection.

And I don't care if Arika are still taking down videos or not. I'm already on at least one strike with my new account (valid and not tetris related) and I'd rather not lose it.

That was offensive and uncalled for. My comment was hyperbole; you shouldn't have interpreted it literally.

TGM:ACE costs about 20 EUR. Why don't you buy that and put your money where your mouth is?

The main reason I personally don't want to talk about TGM3 emulation publicly on this forum is because I don't want to land the site admins (my friends) in trouble. I also don't want to jeopardize the release of TGM4. If you're unaware of the history, the PS2 port of TAP was actually completed, but remains unreleased; the game's emulation in MAME was a significant factor in deciding its fate.

too bad this wasn't the case with ketsui

  19. They can't, not if they didn't respond to the first counter-notice.

If they try that against me anyway then I'll be sure the videos go right back up again.

    Wait a minute...

Wasn't the port why Arika told the MAME team to remove the game (and why they listened?)

I'm pretty sure this was just TTC being a dick.

The PS1 version was complete too, but was not allowed to be released because of a conflict with the Next Tetris.

if i actually had a way to play it, i would buy tgm ace.

however, it's production run is finished and i have no 360.
