Maybe I'm posting out of line here, and Deniax/caffeine take a different view, but I'd rather not have people openly telling people in Blockbox that you get free VIP in the game by being a member of TC. Mainly because I feel that the whole idea is that members of the TC community, or people who play Blockbox a lot are those who are being gifted with VIP status. My current understanding is that on the English site Deniax is being pretty liberal with who gets VIP status to try and establish more people playing there, so I guess for this instance there's no problem, but I wouldn't like the idea in the future once there's a bit more of a community established of people signing up for TC purely to get VIP status and then most likely never posting again. The VIP status should be for people who have accounts on TetrisConcept which they actually use rather than just people who have bothered to sign up to two websites rather than just one. I would like to think that it's for people who sign up here, are active for a bit, and then are awarded with VIP status, rather than people signing up here, getting their VIP status, and then it's up in the air as to whether they'll actually post again. (tl;dr) Obviously who does and does not get VIP is purely up to Deniax, and it's caffeine's choice of whether he minds people signing up to this place, asking for VIP, and then never coming again. I just personally would rather that people in-game on Blockbox linked to TC as a place to discuss the game, perhaps improve on their technique, and generally as a community to appreciate as a whole rather than people linking to this place saying "sign up there and you get a VIP account here", which is something I have seen being said a reasonable number of times. Either way, I hope you stick around bestforthebirds, and I hope you enjoy both this forum and also Blockbox.
I couldn't agree more with the post of Rosti. In my opinion it should also not be told openly at these forums, therefore I actually want this topic to be removed...but that's only my opinion. Like Rosti had said: the decision about VIP is up to Deniax.
I was thinking something like that. Though I have no problem with whatever policy Deniax has for giving people VIP's. It's more people explicitly saying "go to tetrisconcept.com and sign up and you'll get VIP" that's irritating me. I wouldn't be surprised if everyone currently registering at the site gets VIP anyway, once he's gotten around to it. I know he's happy to do it to build up an initial player base for the game.
Bleh.. sorry about this. This is my brother's friend. They wanted to play multiplayer against each other and I told him to wait for Deniax to get there and tell him he's my brother etc. etc. I don't even know how they ended up here. So, sorry if I caused an upset.
what's the point of not allowing people to start games unless they have vip status? i found that extremely stupid when i first joined (and still do)... instead of building a community you are discouraging them from playing
The TC members get free VIP "rule" was mainly an internal issue. It was a thank you for what the TC community has done for the game. As most of the TC members already have an VIP account status on Blockbox, from now on: TC members won't get a free VIP anymore If you want an free VIP , just PM me on the forum or in the game
Because ultimately this game is intended to make money, meaning that you have to have some things which are good and VIP-only as an incentive for people to pay.
