According to forum policy, we're not supposed to link to copyrighted Tetris media or clones that use such media. I'm not going to delete this topic but I will delete the link. For now, feel free to discuss about this clone but realize that this topic can be deleted if things get out of hand.

  4. I just hope that he finishes the grades and mission mode before things stop.

  5. I wish... that the author would open source it so that we could all take out the copyrighted backgrounds / music and enjoy the game, because otherwise it's great and deserves to be played. I played a lot of it while on vacation during the last two weeks, as it's so convenient. My main complaint is that you only get one high score for each mode. Frankly, I know that I'm terrible compared to people on the Internet, so I don't see the need to have 10 Internet ranking slots. And I also wish that each game mode (TGM1, 2, and 3) had separate high score tables as well. Other than that, put in grading and it's golden. (And multiplayer would be nice, too. I can dream, right?)

At the moment, the speedcurves are the same whether you choose the TGM1, TGM2, or TGM3 option. The TGM1 and TGM2 options just disable the floorkicks and hold I think. I believe the author had expressed that he wanted to make a Ti clone. The added Death speedcurve is to satisfy those that wanted to play TAP Death, but he's not going out of his way to make a separate board for that.

  7. So are you saying that the rotation system in TGM2 mode is different than the actual game? If I remember correctly, there were more differences in the TGM2 and TGM3 rotation systems than just the floor kick, right?

No, the TGM2 rotation system is the same as in TAP. TGM3 only added floorkicks for the T and both wallkicks and floorkicks for the I. Oh, and TGM1 is just TGM2 but without firm drop.

  9. OK, that's good. I know this is a little off topic, but if I wanted to get better at 20G, what would be better to focus on? Pushing myself at faster speeds to try to get used to handling pieces faster so I have more time to react, or going slow and focusing on stacking technique? I still make stacking errors in 20G, though I am getting better, but I seem to do better overall after warming up with some very fast play.

That's a question that can be hard to answer objectively. You might get mixed answers. I personally honed speed primarily and kept technique secondary.

    Finally? ^^

This is from the official site:

This is really too bad and I can only hope he keeps on working on the game secretely. The game as it is now is already great, but we all hoped for some more features. Hopefully this isn't the end.

  13. If he continues to work on it in secret we won't get to play it anyway, because even if he "accidently" leaks it it's not like The Tetris Company/Arika will be too stupid to notice that it's his work.

As far as things go though, his last build is a pretty good game of Tetris, even if it's not exactly an accurate Ti remake. The last release adds some fun options for invisible training mode.

... I'll surely miss it. But the last build is good enough to satisfy me all things considered.

Also, after this cease and desist, can we still post replays from the game on this forum? I meant to create a topic for that, but asking here seems like a better idea.
