    By the way, bonus kicker for anyone who's paying attention: c_t can GM without tetrises faster than about 75% of the GMs on the TGM1 board...myself included.

    I need to play some TGM1 again, clearly...

  3. By the way guys, that funny feeling you get whenever I don't take a tetris is called an N400. I bet that tetris skill is positively correlated with the amplitude of the N400.
     
  4. The idea of filling the hole with L and S pieces instead of I pieces is not entirely foreign to the mind of someone who has played enough Push mode in Tetris DS. Still, there were quite a few spots where I wouldn't have caught myself in time.

    Wow. Just... wow.
     
  5. Wow. That's some good play except for the last section. Horizontal I's on the left felt like the easy way out. [​IMG]
    Good job, at least we definitely know for certain it's not a tetris requirement that was stopping me (and therefore extremely likely a 7 minute "torikan").

    I didn't sip my Diet Mountain Dew much. For one thing, I'm used to a game where you make one 3- or 4-line clear and then combo off it for more points than the game gives for back-to-back 4-line clears. And by level 100, I caught on that L triples were to be your preferred scoring method, just as they are in Tetris DS Push (as Caithness pointed out). But I still saw some opportunities for L triple-S double combos that you didn't take, like when you gained grade 3 at level 138, and immediately afterward at 147. But you did take the combo around 337 and 347, and you finished the score criterion (S9 + 6K) with over 50 levels to spare, so I see why you didn't feel the need to combo attack as much as I'd expected. Great job.

    Aside: Hot pink S pieces at level 233 are hard to see in the preview against the hot pink background of level 200-300. Had Mr. Mihara played Zoop?

  9. I got to around 9 sips of orange juice before my cup was empty. But I kept watching and counted 27 times I might have made a Tetris. Though I lost count a few times, and a few of those probably wouldn't have been possible (I'm used to TI's I floorkick) But yeah, it made me feel uneasy each time.

    Nice skill the both of you! Almost top 10 on the TGM leaderboards colour_thief!

    I see myself having no problem getting no tetrises in the 20G part of the game and I'm quite good at comboing between level 0-300. But I don't think I could ever get to the end of the game at the moment and certainly not with the GM grade.
