Gahh. I was there last night too. I think all the scores are the same though. Next time I go, I'll have a camera handy.

Also, got S5 on Shirase last night and S7 on Master. Need to speed up my Shirase timing. I suck at handling the arcade joystick.

Went to AI and got some scores. I need to shrink the pics, until I do, here is the collection on Images Hack.

  3. Hahaha... SEA TAC TGM continues.

  4. That was interesting, thanks for sharing SWR! You definitely look like the best local Classic player, so congrats!

Thanks. I'm not sure if it's noticeable, but does it feel like Shirase is easier on the actual TGM3 than on mimics like Texmaster or Nullpomino, or am I just crazy?

  6. It's actually harder than Texmaster due to garbage inaccuracies.

    Perhaps, but its' more responsive.

WHen you play on a laptop, there's usually a bit of LCD lag. PLaying on a crt in arcade, ti's all removed.

You also remove all pc converter lag, and all the lag programmed into the PC game itself. I've found Texmaster to be somewhat laggy at the higher speeds.

Whearas in the arcade itself, there's no lag at all. That helps. a LOT.

  8. Maybe on your laptop. I play Texmaster on a desktop using a CRT and a native USB stick and there's no lag. Turn Vsync on/off, see if that helps you. As for Ti, there is actually a small amount of lag induced by the JVS I/O board or the JAMMA/JVS converter, whichever applies to you. Ti also actually drops below 60fps when two or more line clear effects are on screen at once, which is kind of funky.

I must be crazy then. I oddly perform better on the arcade version. Oh well, that's what counts most.

  10. I don't think it's that bad. I don't think anything within the game is bad enough to slow it down. But if the system has just booted, various Windows whatevers happening in the background can slow it down.

Got to level 915 with all cools. Unfortunately, I do not know what my final grade was because it was during an exam (S6 which I obviously achieved). My guess would put me anywhere from m3 to m6 give or take. I'm scared to get to the credit roll. I can do fine on vanish I'm sure, but the invisible roll will kill me. D:

  12. Anyone here (preferably a Classic Rule user) wanna pimp the Ti machine when it arrives at AX (courtesy of AX and AI pulling some strings)? I'd hate to hear "oh, no one played TGM3 except those people whose only experience with Tetris is Game Boy."

  13. Yeech, this is why windows is a terrible choice for this sort of embedded implementation...

I played TGM3 at AX all weekend. Must have spent $80 on it. Got m5 a few times and finally reached the credit roll. (vanish and I failed due to being clumsy at the start)

  15. Didn't happen to run into any TC members, did you? :p

  16. I doubt he would have-- I mean, why would someone randomly be in SoCal? BI

I actually did. But I didn't catch her name. We played a few rounds. It was aright. Nice to see someone get to at least the S-range and manage cools on classic.

  18. See above.

  19. I was at AX for 4 days playing on TGM3. The competition was lackluster and boring.
