Re: [NES] A-Type Level 19 Thanks Simba! I started to exclusively play 19 in early May right after I scored a 522,200. So I haven't played 18 since that day. I usually practice slower speeds/stack optimization (or whatever one might call it) on Game Boy Tetris on my subway commutes to work Once I get a little higher on 19 (maybe 300k+) I'll go back to 18 and see what I can do. I don't know if this is a good strategy, but we'll see!

I'd say you have the right idea about Level 19 performance the right way too -- one way to think of it is that a max-out is just a good transition and ~300k in 100 lines of 19 (not to mention you get the benefit of leveling up along the way). So, if you can do each one of those things individually, then in theory you could max-out. (Of course, putting it into practice is no easy task! But, of course, having the constituent parts puts you in a great position to pull it off when the time comes.)

Re: [NES] A-Type Level 19 Apparently, a blessing from a man who's got 19 mojo for miles works wonders. Well, I definitely figured out a bit of what my problem was. Long story short, I haven't been "playing" Level 19, but rather "working" Level 19. Thinking about height, DAS, over-thinking piece placement. Just all gears turning at once, firing on all cylinders. If I could play every game of 19 the way I play Levels 19-28 after a decent tranny, I would be in good shape. There is this thrill that runs up my leg in those situations, and this mentality of "ok I do my Tetris thing now" which just makes the fast levels somehow become incredibly simple. I have only been able to "turn it on" on max runs. Last night, I managed to get some of it flowing on Level 19 starts.
