I'm not sure how relevant this may be to TC, but I noticed during the weekends that the arcade Pier21, you've heard of that place right, has started streaming TGM on ustream. http://www.ustream.tv/channel/ピア-生配信 Yea its their in house arcade stream so sometimes theres no action going on, but once in some skilled players come in and show some skill on the stream, yesterday I saw a 9'20 TGM, and last weekend I saw a few 7'40ish TAP master failed M-roll runs along with a game of doubles. It usually starts around 11PM EST, lasts until 9-10 AM or so. I watch once in awhile during downtime but they only stream during the weekends.
Wow, that's pretty sweet! I noted some current records (might be some slight mistakes it was hard to read) for the curious: Cool to know that if I ever visit, I'd have a shot at some Ti machine records.
I only saw the end of one game. 9:22 GM on TGM1. They shut off the remaining too cams just before the person topped out at the credit roll. Edit: NVM, the person just switched it to display TAP only. AWESOME! Some guy is playing real fast right now.
I grabbed a snapshot of their TAP section times... the one that stood out to me was 50'03 0-100 PS: The reason the cameras went down was to fix TAP video issue, today was the first day I saw the blur at the top covering next piece. Its also worthy to note that some of the machines are dual PCB since their TAP can be quickly switched to TGM1 and back.
Ooooh top out at 998 : ( Edit: I'm so happy for the TGM series' awesome sound effect for an inserted coin. I can keep this in the background, and when I hear a credit, someone's about to play.
Nice find! Just watched a Death GM in 6:35 (the player stopped locking after 300) with Gold SK this morning.
Just watched the same video (and the following ones) Is it live stuff? The striking fact is that the player always do his best to have the cleanest stack possible, no matter how high the top of the stack is, and even at 500 speed... Maybe the secret of consistency?
Yes its live direct feed from one of their arcade cabinets. Never know if its the same player or if they rotate from one to another between games but high level play = high level play outside of high level stamina. Yesterday was quad screen for their TGM masters event that I woke up for the finals, then someone threw big, 2nd player started big, and 1P glitched twice in the same game (moving 1/2 unit space, since store audio was on you could hear everyone laughing )
well, i'm going to japan today. lol do you think pier21 is worth a visit? it seems to be a little outside the city and there are also some arcades at the center...
Saturday and Sunday their time, which would be midnight or so Friday night on the east coast to about sunday afternoon east coast (noon-1PM.) Only being down for when they close. Thats assuming you managed to snag the day they come, outside of their monthly Masters events.
There is no point going to Kodaira outside of "Master's session"... you better go to HEY (akiba) , or (i forgot the game center's name there) XXX in yokohama ! if you go to Hey, you better take ear plug (strongly recommended)
i'll correct something : Pier21 owners are really cool dudes, cheap and cool place for playing TGM ! but if you aim to see Top players you better go there only for "masters sessions". btw, i would be really pleased to go again in japan next year, so i'm starting thinking about it.
Figure I'll bump this since it's on again as of 20 minutes ago. Edit: Neat, some Ti play. Edit 2: Two points where all three games were being played. There's never been someone on all four machines though. Just saw a guy get to 500 in Shirase with a time that looked like 2:29 something. Ouch. One of the guy's who's playing TGM is obviously playing for machine records and not completion. Quit a bunch of games at around 200. The time he got to 999 at 9:18, he didn't enter initials. Edit 3: Just saw a guy get to level 645 something in TGM1 by clearing only singles. I've got a REALLY crappy video of it if anyone's interested from around level 200 to the top out. I didn't realize he was doing it at first or I'd have started recorded sooner. It's flipped vertically and horiztonally for reasons I can't explain, but I'll try to flip it back before uploading. It's also too grainy to read, and this is uncompressed...
