SEATACTGM has a history of withholding scores out of laziness, so we probably just assumed that was happening. But congrats TWF! It amazes me that some people have that much speed before survival. Have you ever compared your general playstyle to Zircean's?
I think it comes from playing a lot of Shirase first. Basically, people can easily cope with the speed but can't handle TAP rotation. Once they learn TGM1/TAP ARS, they can then easily attain the speed required for M at 500.
Our playstyles are, as far as I can tell, extremely similar. This is why we're neck-and-neck in Shirase/Sudden Ti and Death. I seem to be ahead in Master modes mostly because I devote more time to them than he does With regards to speed versus survival, that is definitely not the norm for me. My first TGM1 GM was 13:29:xx, and I hit the Shirase torikan many, many times before passing it. I think Death is different because its torikan is very lax and because 400 speed is so damn hard -- I was routinely getting straight gold ST's or silver-gold-gold long before I was anywhere near 500. At this point I doubt I will ever get stopped by the Death torikan. EDIT: And hey, I resent being lumped with Kevin! I report my records quite promptly, thank you very much.
For me, I had to "unlearn" move reset with ACE-ARS2 since I started playing with Heboris. Then, it was simply unlearning hold, then shimmying down to one preview. Constant cross-training meant that regular ARS rotations never really bit me that hard. By the time I started posting here, I'd already hit level 300; 500 was a long way off, and my first 500 wasn't so far off the torikan. From there, it was simply survival - which is a whole different ballgame. I can make the Death torikan nearly every time I do make it to level 500.
Kevin, you are a god. Now you have to get Master Gm and finish the game off once and for all (well, that is, if you get orange line)... In other news, yes, TWF and I have pretty similar playstyles. He plays a bit cleaner than I do for the most part though, which is what lends to his better Master scores. His Special Ti score blows mine away, but I hardly play that mode... I have broken into m* grades on Grade Mania 3 in NullpoMino though. I'll bother to work on that eventually. Anyway, now that I've got my Death m, I figure I'll spend more time with TAP Master and see if I can at least bring it up to S9, which shouldn't be a big deal...

Congrats!!! When I read that i wanna jump throuogh the window... I'm just overwhelmed with this speed (and still do times such 3:30 etc)
