Looks like generic ring-like objects to me, like they're not actually trying to be anything real.

  2. Re: TGM4 Announced!!

News is sloooow on this front. But it was addressed again today on Mihara's blog. It seems the timing of the release has a lot to do with when Sega wants to publish it. So in case you were worried that TTC was withholding the license or that Arika gave up on taking the game to the next level, it seems more likely that Sega just wants to space the game out a little further from the release of Giant Tetris.

    Code:
    mihara.sub.jp/top/blog/sb203
But it's blocked from non-japanese IPs, so you'll have to use a proxy.

    Thanks muf! So it's still the same address. A while ago now since the blog became unavailable... ^^;

Just give me ARS and an actual Tetris mode and I'll be content. :D

  8. Re: TGM4 Announced!!

That's understandable; I recall seeing blog comments saying things like "woo giant tetris! fuck the other tetris game" and "why don't they just put the two games together?"

    WOw.. :(

    This news makes me sad.

    Were those comments in english?

  10. Re: TGM4 Announced!!

...Yeah, and not on Mihara's blog. These comments were from English gaming news blogs. We're talking about comments from people that haven't really heard much of TGM or get why it isn't "just Tetris."

  11. Re: TGM4 Announced!!

does anyone know the reason for this

And maybe someone can share a way to easily circumvent this? I haven't really tried hard to find ways to access the site, but the little I attempted was unsuccessful.

  13. Re: TGM4 Announced!!

    Google translate

  14. Re: TGM4 Announced!!

I was able to access it from http://hide-me-now.com/ but you will have to confirm if the page encoding works, I do not have japanese text support installed on my computer so it all came up as blocks.

don't expect translators to remain unblocked forever, so enjoy it while you can. Mihara isn't stupid. :)

I have to wonder if the S people sneaking into TOJ had something to do with it. there seems to be a community that the people using the patch aren't really aware of the rules. That's honestly why i haven't installed the patch and tried to play much. Instead i just try tetris party deluxe on my DSLite.

GOd, i really wish TTC wasn't so evil, or we'd have TAP on our PS2s by now.

    Re: TGM4 Announced!!

Blocking foreign IPs isn't stupid in the first place? Helloooo. I realise that xenophobia is as socially accepted in Japan now as casual racism was in the 19th century, but come on, he doesn't have to be an asshole about it.

  19. Re: TGM4 Announced!!

Arika produced three great games, and they are three big reasons to support them and a fourth. But in supporting TGM, youre complicit in Mihara's, and CLUBTGM's xenophobia.

and you shouldn't support such things, just like you shouldn't support casual 19th century racism, so support Texmaster instead.

  20. Re: TGM4 Announced!!

If you're going to analyze how you spend your money to the extent that you're thinking about all the things you are complicit in supporting, then you might as well flush all your money down the toilet because everything has a conceivable negative angle to it. Hell, China gives you your paycheck. Think about that for a while if you're so sensitive.

It's sort of like food. Everything is bad for you, somehow. Not to mention the underpaid farm workers, mistreatment of animals, contamination of potable water through farming practices, etc etc. But the alternative is starvation and malnutrition, so you might as well just eat you know?

By supporting Texmaster you support a complete lack of creativity and the practice of creating buggy closed source applications. :p Support Arika. Support the innovators, the commissioners of awesome music, and the companies that still make these barely profitable, yet awesome, arcade games. Unless you'd rather see arcades die while you play derivative amateur games.
