    NullpoMino Unofficial Expansion!

    Hokay, so I've made a number of hacks for this game and decided that it is no longer sufficient to offer them separately, because this could lead to potentially ugly problems later down the road. So, I had decided to package them all into one nice rar file for all of you to enjoy. Enter NullpoUE...

    To install, you get the rar file above, place it in your NullpoMino 6.2 folder and choose to "Extract here". Overwrite files when necessary.

    IMPORTANT NOTICE: It seems people are having a lot of trouble unraring correctly, or something like that. Make sure you have a lib folder, config/lang, and all the rest of the graphics and resources that are required by NullpoMino as these seem to be the most important things that are overwritten. Otherwise, the game will either not start or just be missing half its graphics/labels. Not a good thing. So, check to make sure that everything is still there, and if it isn't, then go get a fresh batch of version 6.2 and copy back the things you lost. It will also apparently affect the Rule Editor, source files, class files and the readmes, which are not essential for play but are nice to have.

    This is not a problem with NullpoUE, but a problem with whatever program overwriting an entire folder and the end result is that whatever NMUE doesn't pack in gets deleted. So, if you fix this, we should be all good. Do remember that this currently only works with NullpoMino 6.2. A version that works with 6.3 is coming soon...

    There is a readme included that will give you all of the details. But right now, this includes the following:

    • New modes (Retro Mania, Phantom Mania, Score Attack, Time Attack)
    • New rotation systems (CLASSIC0, DTET, STANDARD-EXP, other less important ones)
    • Various bugfixes to official modes
    • New features in official modes (Qualified grading in Grade Mania 3!)
    • New tools such as TAS detection and the Sequence Viewer

    Things that are still coming at some point will be a Sakura-style mode, Mission-style modes (from ACE), and a mode emulating Ti Easy. If you have any suggestions, hit me up.

    The RetroMania mode causes a bunch of crazy java errors in Mac OS X. The Classic0 rule works fine, though.

    We have tested and found out that Snow Leopard does indeed solve the problems that Caithness described. So, if you have a Mac and you want to play some Sega Tetris, now you can! Whoo!

    I will when it's ready. There are a few kinks I want to work out and I need a preliminary idea of how much time it takes e.g. Kitaru to get to 300 so I can make more finalized torikans.

    AND YOU'RE NOT SUPPOSED TO KNOW ABOUT THAT YET :colbert:

    EDIT: We have a new lead beta tester who all of you know ( ;) ) and he's helping me work out the kinks in the torikans and such much faster. So far it's looking like the torikans are waaaaaay too hard, cause I'm evil like that.

    More news coming soon.

    EDIT2: I have released the first version of Phantom Mania. As you can see, the mystery beta tester is KAN... and he managed to pull off an M rank already! This guy's absolutely ridiculous, check out the movie above. This is why he's the best in the world.

    when I try to open Nullpomino i just get a flashing cmd prompt screen and then nothing... i just downloaded java so i think i have the latest installed.
     
  8. Trying to open being double-clicking the .bat file, issuing the commands manually, or double-clicking the binary itself? Only the first two of those will work.

  10. New version of NullpoUE! This one accomodates the new NullpoMino 6.2 and adds a bunch of new features. As always, hit me up with suggestions!
     
  11. New update, guys. We now have demotional exams in Grade Mania 3, so if you aren't keeping up your grades, you might go down!

    Also, more bugfixes of course. Thanks you guys for keeping tabs on my awful awful code :p
     
  12. New version: Major graphical overhaul. And stuff like that.

    Enjoy, and there will be legitimate gameplay updates coming in the next update. In the meantime, have some fun with STANDARD-EXP or something. :D

    I'm on Windows 7
    AMD Athlon II
    3GB of DDR2
    EDIT: how do I resize the image? so it doesn't take up that much space
     
  15. That might be a bug with the crap Swing version. There's not much I can do about that. The NullpoMino dev has confirmed that it is kind of buggy and stuff...

    Personally, I play using the SDL version. Slick should also work just fine. I'd advise against using Swing until it gets better.

  17. Okay, guys, there's a new NMUE up. Hopefully it fixes the problems you guys are having. If not, then there's some funny business going on...

    EDIT: steadshot has helped me fix this. Instructions on what to do should you not be able to run NullpoMino are in the first post.
