In fairness I think you'd have struggled to clear a line before topping out even if you'd not screwed up the IRS.
IRS the L clockwise, tap right once, line clears. (The S, I, and J above it weren't there at the time, naturally.)
wooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo My hands were shaking for the last 30 levels or so; it's a miracle I could even place the pieces.
This was in a multi-game multi-day .inp so you'll have to wait until I find the time to fast forward through about 15 hours of .inp to get a video (unless someone wants to do it for me!). I was listening to Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 4 while playing. Maybe that helped. Dunno. No lyrics here. Thanks to a certain person for giving me enough enjoyment in life to bother with the miserable hell also known as Death again!
Congrats Kevin on your crazy improvement once again. Really, you're just now catching up to where you should be given your Ti skill.
It is unfair..How can I accept this. This summer he was not M yet..And now he completely beats me. He improved from 500 to 800 in 2 months where I took 2 years..
The point is : you don't have choice.. You seem to focus far too much on irrelevant things. M gets closer for me
It's not unfair. It's simple maths. How many hours do you play a day? How many hours does he play? Seriously, you're just looking at this wrong. This isn't some sort of unnatural godly talent for Tetris which Kevin has (no offence Kevin). He's just far more motivated and dedicated than you or I in terms of the time he puts into it. If Kevin plays as much as he claims to, then I'm pretty sure he's putting in as many hours of Tetris, if not more, in a day than I bother to in a week. If he wasn't improving faster than me then something would be pretty badly wrong. You can't have it both ways Amnesia. You can't expect to just keep improving even if you're not training that hard, even if you've not bothered buying a proper stick for fuck knows how long now. Kevin has put in the hard work which the likes of us have not, and he deserves to be improving faster. Stop being so fucking emo about it, man up and give congratulations where it's due rather than whining about it.
Everybody stop playing Death, you might pass Amnesia and make him cry because he's incapable of taking himself to the next level.
it is 6:13 pm, I am still at work, and waiting my boss for a little meeting.. Then I have 1H20 of transport..So I agree that he plays in one day what I play in..10 days.. But still, 1 year ago I was still student, I used to play 2h or more per day which is huge, and I was not improving insanely like him, so shall I think that "zombi" training has no effect on kevin ?? Even when I watch his lastest vid, I can't prevent myself to think that his technic is 2 years retarted compared to mine..I wonder if he has not by any chance a mental glitch which makes him play a game like his life would be in a real danger if he loses..I wonder..I don't know..This time there is no kevinhold, no kick or something else..648 to 881 sound like an unreal jump.. damn we had an occasion to make him disapear when we met him in london.. We missed it Rosti..
There's nothing to stop it being a flukey game. I've said before that if the randomiser is kind to you, and gives you specific pieces when you need it rather than starving you, then it can make up for mistakes during play, and give you another 100 levels when you otherwise would have died. Could end up eating my words here, but I'd say that he won't get near 881 again for a bit. In the same way that I've only gotten close to my record once or twice since I got it. Also IIRC Kevin plays more than 2 hours a day.
I don't know really if it was a fluke, but I really wish I could upload the inp or video so you guys could judge and give me advice! Unfortunately that 20 hour inp isn't getting any smaller and there's no way to cut to the middle of an inp due to the nature of the format. On an average day I play about 20-30 games of Death, 5-10 of Sudden Ti, and maybe 2-4 Master games in either Texy's Special Ti or TAP Master. Lately the numbers have dropped massively because I'm playing full time with an orchestra in addition to youth symphony and I'm also kind of loaded with homework most nights. I'd say I'm playing maybe 1 hour per night at the moment, with 2-3 hours a day on weekend. I don't have better things to do with my time! The main reason I play so much is because I have a very addictive personality; I find something that I like doing and I do it a lot. Hey, TGM is better for me than drugs!
We'll know soon enough whether it was a fluke or not. Amnesia you have some mental problems holding you back. Such a pessimist. Be a little more confident in your skills. Too much complaining this year. And most of the time you were taking a break or threatening to quit. That's not really an environment for progress. I still expect big things from you. I wish I was younger with more free time to play. I've never been a big or good gamer so that didn't help either.
No. Amnesia should be a little less confident and realise he's only going to stagnate and possibly drift backwards unless he does something about it other than just talking it up. Saying "I got <insert grade here> all the way back in <insert old date here>" could, in your mind mean that you're supposedly better now and your outdated record isn't an indicator of your true current skill. To the rest of us however, it's more a glaring indicator of how you've not actually made any major improvements in a long time. It's all fine and dandy to kid yourself and say that your skill is way better than Kevin's, but what proof do you have of this? The records show that he's above you, and even if his stacking is messy and riddled with mistakes those records will still say that. The only benefit of good technique and clean stacking is that it presumably makes it easier to improve and get the top grades, but you've still yet to show that.
I think Rosti is the most right. I should admit I am finished in term of big improvement, I am too old, even if I get soon a stick I will ofcourse make some progress but not massive.. but I will never stop to think that kevin's style is crappy, he must have a faster reaction time than mine which prevent him to die at DEATH 500 where the lock delay kills me sometime, you can really see this in my last DEATH video where I let 3 tetriminos falling in the center around 550, with a very late reaction. At such moments kevin would make a rubbish placement but still better than my absence of input to realise that the game is beating me. Anyway, I have still my hopes..More speed and more HOLD... Then I am still amazed by his advance on m roll..This is why I think he will become TAP GM before me..But here again, I am not so worried, I noticed recently that it is coming much faster than 1 year ago..now I can say, "ok, this time I resist 45sec," and I do it.. Even if jago almost made me cry by phone, this stupid guy loled when I told him that I had never performed the 61 sec one time..He found that so funny.. I can accept that he becomes DEATH GM before, but TAP GM would be for me so humiliating that I would be forced to stop for ever this passion. DIGITAL never proved me that he was definitly stronger in letting me the domination on TAP and TGM, but kevin is close to overcome me everywhere. huh.."overcome" ? I am not sure that word is good here..
