You are close c_t, another last record in TAP MASTER and you will be the first player out of Japan who beats me EVERYWHERE.
The only logical explanation would be that he's also including TAP Normal/TGM+, Ti Easy/Master/Shirase when comparing. I don't think he's also taking into consideration modes unlocked with codes as he's still ahead in a few.
New record for me: Despite achieving the M rank, I am quite ashamed of my play; I didn't clear a single line during the m-roll, and I was making mistakes in literally every section.
Damn, FSY! Nice job there! I'm sure with some m-roll training and tips from Jago, you'll be getting that Gm in no time!
You'd think that with all the Death 500 speed practice I do that I could handle 900 speeds without any trouble, but apparently not.
You're pushing too hard. Just stop manual locking in the last section if necessary. If you really want to get to the end that is. If I can do it, so can you. S8 looks like a done deal if you keep playing. I haven't played a single game since my S5 GL which is about 6 weeks ago now. I played Texmaster Special a little though...
I actually don't manual lock in 900. At least I think I don't... edit: Ai, you oughta start playing TAP again. I bet you could get S6 easily. And I need to start playing TGM1 again, I still haven't improved my Gm time (or even gotten Gm again).
I played a dozen games in about 90 minutes today. After a few games I got S5 with silver SK. Then I got a few games dying around level 750 or before. Afterwards I got this fine result: Code: 33--Ai---------------------S7 - 999 @ 10:48:75 - 07/09/09 Green line as I was too stressed to play the semi-invisible roll seriously. The good news is that I can still improve because I got S7 before level 950. I should have gotten S8, but panicked like crazy near the end. With this I have met all my TGM related resolutions for this year and we're still only halfway. New short term targets - somewhere next year or sooner if possible: TGM GM sub 12 minutes TGM 20G GM TAP Normal 450.000 TAP Master S9 (OL) TAP T.A. Death 500 Special Ti Mx Sudden Ti 500 Long term targets - these could take a while to achieve...: TGM GM sub 10:38:15 TAP Normal 500000 (will need a bravo near the end to do this) TAP Master M TAP T.A. Death M Special Ti M6+ Sudden Ti 500+ I'll also try to improve in the other sub modes in TGM/TAP.
Nah, make it orange. The disappearing credit roll isn't anywhere near as menacing as it might seem to be. Especially since you're already warmed up on 900-999 speeds.
Thanks! I'm 100% sure you can do it too. I said you were pushing too hard before because I saw your fast times. In Texmaster Special I've shown I could finish the game in under 10 minutes too, but it would take me alot of effort and time. What's the point of playing too fast at this stage? There is no way to get M anyway. So use your time to stack cleanly and aim for a higher grade instead. LOst obtained S9 with a time of 10:51:36. And by getting S9 a top 20 spot on the leaderboard is guaranteed. Afterwards you have all the time in the world to work on a fast time. I too play hard, but I now know when I need to take it easier. I see a few other players playing too aggressively. Well that's just what I think. There is a time to play aggressively and a time to play for a higher leaderboard spot. As for why I play far less than before. Well my current strategy consists of practicing so much that when I get back to where I left off, there's little or no way improvement is impossible. So go get S8/9! Clearing the credit roll isn't that difficult indeed as I do it in about 75% of cases while practicing. But after jumping 2 grades I was shacking and my hands were getting sweaty. I was just too excited to stay focused on the task at hand so I just tried to survive as long as possible without really trying. In this case OL doesn't really have a big impact on my position on the leaderboard. If I get S8 on the other hand I will do everything in my power to get OL as it would make a HUGE differenct on the leaderboard!
I still have a lot of trouble with it. I clear it about one in every 6 or 7 tries. Still, it's doable for me. The thing is, I don't even think I'm playing all that fast. Sure, I'm still manual locking (up until 900 of course), but once I've hit level 700 or so I've started focusing on stacking cleanly so I don't top out.
You're clearly better than me then. I play quite fast till level 700 after which I need to slow down if I want a shot at finishing the game. I can play about a minute faster, but if I do I can't get to level 900 consistently or only with a messed up stack that's impossible to work with. I even stop manual locking before and just after level 700 to correct situations. In my S7 game I stopped manual locking around level 800. For me a clean stack and stable play before level 900 is more important than speed. Early on in 900 I tried going for tetrises and triples, but nearing 950 all that mattered was survival. That's probably the reason why I didn't get S8. If I had taken more risks I may have gotten S8, but nearing the end seemed more important and I still hoped I would get it somehow... I'm not telling you to play slower if you're comfortable and consistent enough. Just make sure you have a good stack before entering 900 and you should have no problem reaching the end. Level 900 speed should be easy for you if you play safely, seeing as you're used to T.A. Death level 300 speed. Do you have your section times saved? If so could you share it? I will post mine later. EDIT: I should also mention that most of my records are achieved when just playing for fun and not pushing myself. The S7 session was supposed to be practice for some serious play this weekend. Looks like I don't have to push myself this weekend after all! I'm also interested in other people's ST ranking. Radsih, Zircean, mufunyo etc. Not all my times are from stick though.
Damn! No gold SK (not even close this time :/ ) and no completion. Ai: I'll try to cull my fastest ST's from my 3 or 4 copies of mame
Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww yeah! Also here are a couple of ST's. I think I have some of these beat elsewhere but the 0-100 time is definitely my record.
Good effort TWF. Shame you didn't quite complete it. Still, very close to it and there's not much gap between S8 and S9.
