You might see an alternate theme on your User Control Panel ("Draft - Do not use" or whatever coming into my mind). DO. NOT. USE. IT. EDIT: nevermind... there's an option where I can't prevent people from seeing it Let's turn this thread into a discussion about the upcoming theme EDIT2: finished... I guess As it is a draft of the upcoming default theme. It may be very, very broken and you could be struck with it. As for the theme itself: it will be heavily inspired from Saphic aka TC theme before phpBB3, only better, stronger, faster, etc... So, I'm fan of fixed layout. Any objection ?
All I ask is for is black text, a light background, and scaling to whatever width the screen is, so no horizontal scrolling, even at lower resolutions such as 640x480 or cell phone. That is all. Keep it simple.
Haha, I forgot that theme even existed. Personal preference would have me say red/white/black as a colours scheme of choice. I like a bit more life than a standard grey/light blue theme. Sure this place can potentially cater for alternative themes though.
Make a parent and a child style, fixed and liquid. Most fixed vBulletin styles have an option to change to liquid.
Ok, it's more or less useable now. Theme's name is CAEvoPhic (base theme CA Evo 3.8, icons and theme colors from Sapphic - hence the name) It comes with two flavors: fixed and fluid. Fixed means fixed width (800px), fluid means a width that follows your browser window. muf told me he doesn't like the pulsating red icons (indicating a hot topic). What do you guys think about that ?
I too would really like to be able to use this theme on the wiki. Also, what are people's opinions on making Petit's theme the forum default? If I recall correctly, three years ago (the TC golden age) we used to have the fixed width Saphic theme as default, and it was one of the factors that made me think TC was a really classy place to hang out, instead of some default forum where nobody cared about anything....
Is it possible to add a 'jump to' drop-down menu at the bottom of each page? I find it useful as it saves plenty of clicks when switching to another sub-forum.
Bump. I see that the default theme is still in depressing-marine-default blue. Can we get the radioactive-old-TC green ? meow > I don't know how to do that, unfortunately.
I'd rather see something more like what my board uses, with very clean and non-distracting "new", "hot", etc images, and a blank (or no) image as the "no new posts" image. I always thought the similar images made it pretty hard to tell things apart, especially when they're so similar.
