I've got to be missing something, because i can't find a thread/wiki page listing TGM machine locations! I know this board isn't about TGM only, but im sure alot of people here play... Am i blind and missed this thread? Or does it not exist
To be blunt, a few members outside Japan, with one odd exception, have their own machines and the rest play through emulation.
o_o for real? that few? wow. sorry if this was dumb. i'm sort of new. but i play alot of Bemani, which is also a "rare" japanese arcade game, and even IIDX and PopnMusic have quite a few US locations. i figured a tetris game would have even more! (since its such a simple cabinet) :[ woops. edit: love the "there has been a new post, maybe you should check the thread again before replying" message...i wish more forums had that XD
Three (TGM1) in Sweden that I know of, where one of the owners is a guy I know. There can be much more that we don't know of. Some people are crazy arcade collectors and may not be into Tetris that much, but just wants to own a TGM PCB. The guy I know mentioned above is probably the only one of the three somewhat interested in Tetris. The other two I found on arkadtorget.se, a place for arcade collectors in Sweden where they can list their stuff. Can't find anyone with TAP or Ti though, but they are also much more expensive so it's understandable.
haha, well, i'm a bit far from sweden philadelphia PA, US though thats awesome for you to be so close!
Theres one in Wales - Uk. I have one in my garage http://homepage.ntlworld.com/mark9/tgm_pcb.JPG I 99% play it through a supergun, though. It too much hassle going down the garage everytime i want to play tgm.
TGM1 at the student union arcade at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. TGM2 (TAP?) at Planet Zero arcade in Houston, Texas. (From what I heard, it may be using 8-way joysticks at the moment.) Currently AWOL is a TGM3 I heard of that moved back and forth between an arcade in Washington and an arcade in Vancouver. I forget the name of both arcades. The person that told me about the machine is going to try to see if it is at either of these locations when he gets a chance.
What depresses me most about all these TGM arcade locations outside of Japan, aside from how few reports we've heard, is that nobody local to one seems to actually play the game. As far as I know, not a single member of TC has played TGM on an arcade machine in an arcade outside of Japan. Your closest machine is probably right here...
Haha... You might have more luck convincing her to see Niagara falls (honeymoon capital of the world), but that isn't exactly close.
Hawaii isn't the honeymoon capital of the world? speaking of which, didn't kbr420 say they have every TGM series game pcb at TTC in Honolulu? found it: viewtopic.php?f=1&t=497&p=7976#p7976 too bad everyone in Hawaii only plays TDS
Sorry for the oldbump, but the cabinet in Vancouver is no longer to be seen. E-Spot apparently had it a while back, but they cycle their games so fast I'm not sure what happened with that. Missed out on a chance to play Ti...q_q.
Thread necro! Planet Zero has a TGM1 cab with only two buttons instead of three. Not sure what the joystick gate is set to.
