It seems that the contest will begin soon on the deniax's game, I put here a link to get an access of the game, every players who are registered for this contest have to create an account for the game "blokkendoos" :

    http://game.spelpunt.nl/test/internal/

You have to send a PM to deniax if you want that he creates it for you !

    Players missing :
    cdsboy, timc

Be ready soon people, and practice your 0G skill to be ready for the contest N1 !

After a short discussion with Rosti and caffeine, I decided to create this topic in order to organize a big contest of Tetris, in using blokkendoos, for online battles.
The first step will be to begin the edition of the attendies list. Rules are still under discussion, and its will depend in part from the preference of players.
The number of attendies is currently etablished to 16, if more players want to attend, we may push the number to 32.
Group system like the world soccer cup, or simple battle with 1/8, 1/4, 1/2....Are not definitely decided.
A fair random selection for matches will also be etablished. In using a very smart method proposed by caffeine. The reference book which will be used to set a total random list is this following one :

    http://books.google.com/books?id=tY6ctA ... 4A#PPP1,M1

    General rules :

    -T-spins off
    -Combo garbage off
    -Back To Back on

(These three features can be used, providing both players agree to use them before the match is played.)

-% of garbage changing position :
    ---- 0G (Contest 1) : 90%
    ---- 20G (Contest 1 & 2) : 30%

    -ARS : TI system
-SRS : Normal parameters with step reset

There will be 3 parallel contests with these setting :

    Contest N1 : 0G
    -No gravity
-ARE and Line Clear delay both set to 0 frames
    -DAS customisable by player.

    Contest N2 : soft 20G
    -Speed : DEATH 0
    Code:
           | values | values on
           | on TAP | nethebo
    ______________|__________|____________
    SPEED---------|----------|----5120----
    SPEED TYPE----|----------|----1/256---
    ______________|__________|____________

    Lock delay2---|----------|----30------
    line cl delay-|-----8----|----11------
    -Vertical wallkick(ti rot system)
    -No HOLD
    -1 preview

    Contest N3 : hardcore 20G
    (demo video)
    -Speed SHIRASE 300
    Code:
           | values | values on
           | on TI | nethebo
    ______________|__________|____________
    SPEED---------|----------|----5120----
    SPEED TYPE----|----------|----1/256---
    ______________|__________|____________
    ARE-----------|-----4----|-----7------
    ARE2----------|----------|-----7------
    DAS-----------|-----6----|-----8------

    Lock delay2---|----------|----15------
    line cl delay-|-----4----|-----3------
    -Vertical wallkick(ti rot system)
    -HOLD present
    -3 previews

Players don't need to attend to the 3 contests.

Rules will be completed and well defined during the creation of the list. Please submit your preferences (ARS/SRS and 20G/0G) I begin with mine :

    Contest N3 : 14 |||| |||| ||| |||
    (4 groups ---> 2 winners /groups ---> 4 quarter finals)

No matches schedule will be defined, but players have to be a least moderately available to not hold up the contest.

    Remaining problem of organisation :
    -maserati ? jago ?

  2. Rosti LFC - ARS

I have no preference for 0G or 20G and I'd play in all three different modes.

    As for other things:

T-spins off (something of a necessity for ARS players to be able to compete), combo garbage off, ARE and Line Clear delay both set to 0 frames on the 0G mode, DAS would be customisable for each individual player through the Max DAS setting, as would hard/sonic drop.
I think the issue is still unclear over whether Death and Shirase settings would use the lock delay setting as well as the other ones.

I'd also put forward 3 piece previews and Hold.

    jujube - SRS - 20G

in 20G i'm not sure that would be enough to bridge the gap. SRS typically gives you more placement options for each piece, allowing for more efficient downstacking/garbage clearing. should there be a separate division for ARS and SRS?

  4. I know SRS is faster than ARS, but I don't really think there are enough players for each different rotation system to have a separate competition for each rotation system.

  5. i'll play in 0g , i'm an SRS player.

In 20g, will ARE be player choice? or is it set. Also, does anybody know what Death 100 and Shirase 300 translate into hebo settings? devildoom 100, devil quake 300?

Also - what is garbage hole change %?

  6. ARE is set by the speedcurve (ie Death 0 or Shirase 300), and the timings are available on the Wiki.

Death is Devil Minus, Shirase is Devil Doom in Heboris.

  7. Amnesia

    Amnesia Piece of Cake

Ok, so ARE is not defined by player, on contest N1, ARE = 0
For number 3, I think there is no player on the earth who can push SHIRASE 300 at his max speed, so ARE at 4 is already reduced enough..The only one pb is about the contest 2, DEATH 0 ARE is 18..
It is slow, but it is strategic to increase the chance of slow good stackers. Otherwise, LOst or mfm can't have any chance.. [IMG]

  8. cdsboy

I'm in. I'm an ars player. I'd like to compete in both 20g competitions, but not the 0g comp.

  9. Muf

    Muf

Count me in for 0G with keyboard and soft 20G with the stick. I'm an ARS player.

  10. I'm in. Contest 1. SRS 0G.

  11. I'll play ARS in all competitions.

  12. Amnesia

    Amnesia Piece of Cake

Why don't you play the two other one ?
Please caffeine watch out with your answer..Don't reply something like :

"Ohh..I am not very comfortable on fast 20G.. [IMG]
I have not been even able to beat you more than 21 - 0.."

  13. Muf

    Muf

Amnesia, I think he wants other players to be able to get a shot at first place on the other two contests.

  14. I'm not comfortable enough with ARE finesse. Rather than practicing that, I'll divert that energy to the first competition.

  15. Hold is easy to force people not to use from the hosting settings. Getting people to play with 1 preview for the Death one is going to take a bit of trust though.

  16. I'm in. ARS player, both in 0G and soft 20G.

  17. I suck and will probably get the last place, but oh well, it's fun, and the one above me will be happy that he/she was not last. [IMG]

I'm too sucky at 20G so I'll just join the 0G group.

  18. im in for soft 20g

  19. nevermind im dropping out of the tournament, theres something wrong w/ my config/settings/computer or something, my hebo is adding lines when it shouldnt. i've tried reinstalling and playing on someone elses server and still happens.

  20. Muf

    Muf

That's the big downside to playing hebo mini. That kind of stuff could happen to anyone during the tournament. There isn't really a sanity check for incoming packets either so they can get messed up by network congestion as well.
