Holy relatively fast and really really sloppy stacking, Batman!! TI-World Code: EIHoppe -----------M1 999 07:50:63 13/11/07 I know I can do better than this, I stopped locking about 600 because of a few double locks late in the 500 section that made me paranoid. I can probably push the tempo a lot faster than I did, probably closer to the 7 minute mark more than the 8 minute mark. I'd have my old scores if I wanted to dig up my laptop, which I don't. In addition, there were SOOOO many misdrops and botched placements and such that the grade probably should have been two or three ranks higher. For the entire 700 section, in fact, I was about three blocks away from death and just couldn't seem to actually recover (in other words, I'd open the hole and botch a placement two pieces later). Bronze SK and RE, platinum (shiny gold, whatever you'd prefer to call it) ST. Also, jujube, I hate you, this stupid leaderboard kept me up when I should have gone to bed because I have exams at 8 tommorow. How dare you. Bah. (in case you read this when you're tired/not able to see sarcasm, that's sarcastic. Except for that whole "I actually should be sleeping" bit. I'm definitely going to regret playing a few rounds to get a decent score up tommoro...later today. It's already 1:40 in the morning...) ~EI
see, this is what i don't understand. Digital was telling me that if you play well the game speeds up and allows you to play faster. i'm able to manually lock the entire game, with only the occasional double-lock in 900-999. the delays are driving me crazy and i can't seem to do "well" enough to make the game go faster. it seems like i'm placing pieces quickly and locking them right away, and i'm also getting a lot of tetrises. good luck on your exams muahahahahaa no seriously, i'm sure you'll do fine. edit: i finally made it to 500 in under 5:00 and there was a big difference in the pace of the game after that point.
I believe the pace of the game has a LOT to do with how many "section cools" (as the wiki puts it) you get--for every section cool you get that you pass the section, your SP-rank goes up by 20 for the section rather than 10 (so at 100, it'd be 20, 200 = 40, 300 = 60, etc.). I'm not sure how accurate Heboris's system is compared to TI, but one thing for certain is that it (section cools) seems to be affected by section times, so make sure you keep those low if nothing else. Also, if you're going fast enough, you should see a MAJOR increase in pace at 400, just like on Master-G4. (300 would be the first 20G section usually under optimal pace, and would retain standard delays, and 400 would be the first section with modified delays), so use that as your guideline. Hopefully I'll have more time to get a few runs in today. But first, and most importantly now...sleeeeep... ~EI P.S. Think I did well on my first exam today, so all should be well. I guess I forgive you. =P
Code: jujube ------------M1 999 08:33:05 13/11/07 still the same class, but almost a minute faster EIHoppe - i've been working on my section times, and in an earlier game actually got sub-51s on the first section. i can't seem to hold it together up to 400 yet though. i'm still not double-locking until 700 or so. anyway thanks for the knowledge. it's good to have a short term goal in mind at the beginning of the game. guess for now i'll focus on sub-1:00 for each of the first 4 sections, and go from there. edit: Code: jujube ------------M2 999 08:18:98 13/11/07 edit: i don't know what i did but i guess it was better Code: jujube ------------M4 999 08:34:36 13/11/07 platinum ST, silver SK, bronze RE
Ti World Code: jujube ------------M5 999 08:19:95 13/11/07 i need a break from this. now for a relaxing game of DOOM and where are the ARS players?
Ti-World Code: Digital -----------MV 999 06:16:38 13/11/07 Hmm, I really do wonder if there are still any active Ti-ARS players here besides me.
ok, let's get things started at least. Ti ARS Code: jujube ------------S1 868 08:57:90 14/11/07 edit: Ti ARS Code: jujube ------------S4 855 08:27:70 14/11/07
I'm very active. It's just that when I can choose between keyboard heboris or astrocity TGM3, the latter wins every time. I don't know what everyone else's excuse is though.
Initial Ti-ARS record to give me something to aim for. Code: Digital -----------m5 896 05:27:35 17/11/07
I'm amazed I walked away from this one with a M4: Code: EIHoppe -----------M4 999 07:13:23 17/11/07 I also decided to get Camtasia to upload a video of the replay to Google Video--this is a sloppy one overall, especially after I was distracted by people around me (you'll be able to tell--a few pieces lock in the middle with me doing nothing about it), which shook me up and caused me to play much more conservatively.
