A new record for me today. I'm still playing "normally", and this record had no t-spins. I think you could get 1200 or maybe even 1300 with a perfect game this way, but to get more than that you have to learn to build the hole in the middle that gives you faster combos with many wallkicks and t-spins.

Where's Seattle at in this thread?

Believe me when I say my 1279 is nothing special. I'll probably upload 1300+ because that's my 2009 resolution.

Also I can guarantee you that any clone of this mode is very incorrect, so that might be part of your problem.

c_t and I have talked over a bit of Ti easy mode versus Heboris tamaya trial. The latter is horribly inaccurate: it overcounts for the most part in 0-200 and undercounts in the credit roll (provided you did well enough). The inaccuracies cancel each other out pretty well if you play like I did in my 1000+ games. However, there are a lot of nuances to Easy mode that do not exist at all in Heboris, especially in the credit roll.

Heboris and HeboMini btw use different but still incorrect scoring algorithms when they clone Easy.

I've got a riddle for you guys. How should I have played the last 2 pieces before the credit roll differently? Hint: This mistake cost me approximately 133 Hanabi. Yes, all else being equal, playing these 2 pieces differently would have made such a large impact.

The question is worth 3 marks. :P

Use hold to get the J out, and Mihara's Conspiracy it in the bottom right to score the twist bonus. Then use hold for the L and grab the obvious double with twist bonus? Not sure that adds up to 133 though.

Oh, rednefed's solution looks right. It probably does grant 133 or so more, because it would make the rate of fireworks in the credit roll higher.

rednefed gets 1/3 for invoking the kick bonus. Lardarse gets sort of gets 1/3 depending on how generous the marking is. :P He invoked the kick bonus but missed an opportunity. Singles are almost worthless in the maingame, so the spin bonus doesn't actually help you much on them.

My other guess has something to do with how the game calculates how many hanabi to give. It's based on how many have popped when the roll starts, and not on how many should be awarded for the line clears made so far. Should you have waited a few frames, to get a few more fireworks counted in the calculation, so that you would get more during the roll?

Lardarse is on the right track. Delaying for 15-20 hanabi would have made the credit roll give them out at an interval of 7 instead of 8.

The third thing would be to delay the single about 3.0 seconds so as to invoke the 30-second bonus on the final line clear. Luckily 3 seconds is about how long it would take to get the 18 or so hanabi needed to also bring the credit hanabi interval down to 7. Note that simply "waste time" isn't a full answer because you have to waste it with the single for full effect, and you can waste too much time and cause the 30-second bonus to apply to the single instead of the double.

So the last line clear would get an extra spin bonus and 30-second bonus, and the credit roll hanabi interval would be 7 instead of 8. A subtle play difference, but it would have given me well over 100 hanabi for sure.

Another bonus question if anyone is up for it:
What are all the line clears where I don't get a spin bonus, and, without changing the piece placement, could have?

I would not say that it is harder than TAMAYA because I play TI without any color, and I need to guess my level because I don't see it as well.(hard to plan the level stop at 99)

The most boring is to restart the game every time I want to see my score.

In this case, I think I literally played a single game, which was a qualifier for the tournament we were having, so I played it safe and didn't use any crazy strategies whatsoever. You guys can break 1000 with straight combos and level stop abuse. Let's go!

Finaly, I had a lot of long combos, 2 of them were long with a tspin single for last move.
The staff roll was really a failure, which is a very good sign actually.

Is it the same ratio than beginner mode in HEBORIS ?

You're sort of right. Approximately, you get 1/3 from the first 200 levels, 1/3 from the credit roll, and 1/3 earned from the first 200 levels but awarded during the credit roll. So 0-200 is more like 2/3 but the reward is delayed.

For reference, I could beat your score with 0 lines in the credit roll (but still survival).

You should "play to win". Don't worry about copying my style or anyone else's. At 166 I didn't take the double because the combo was already broken at 165. During the staff roll my style is to try and get as many t-spin combos as possible.
