View Full Version : TC tag

I propose that we put the TC- tag in front of our names, so it's more easily identified. I'm changing to TC-Sully now.

is there a requirement to be worthy of this tag?

I think you have to A) post here and b) have a 7 chatacters or fewer TDS name.

We've got competition from the TCM, though.

Hmm.... I could be TC-Rosti, but I'm unsure of dropping the 'LFC'. I'll think about it.

In line with TCosmonaut, Caith could be TCaithness

Fortunately, TC-PPrince is short enough.

Also, won't everyone changing their names add more duplicate entries to the ranking? Not that I really care, just curious.

No, you only get duplicated if you reset your game's data. If you just change your name, the old one disappears.

The only reason I was doing PhydeauxTC (so that's 8 characters + TC) was because of capitalization reasons and because "TCP" bothers me for some reason, though it shouldn't. "Transmission Control Protocol". Dunno. Bothers me.

I'll change anyway, though. The only thing I hope in the future that other games don't pull our name from the system and have a separate field like in MKDS, because having to change as per clan for each game is annoying.

caffeine

turns out caffein is a synonym for caffeine. it'll work. i prefer TC.caffein to TC-caffein, though.

TC-Fido, perhaps?

Well, that's the thing. I use "Phydeaux" when I'm being formal with my name and I use "fido" when I'm doing either commentary on myself or "keepin' it real" where I'm less pomp and more transparent.

Comparisons:

Phydeaux (http://www.macaddict.com/forums/profile/10660)

Phydeaux of Amalgamate (http://forums.megatokyo.com/index.php?s=3d1b14789614c6716ffa78ab2dda7e72&showuser=45005)

fido (http://clubhouse54.com/forums/profile.php?mode=viewprofile&u=43)

Eh, regardless, the next time you see me I'll be TCPhydeaux.

Colour Thief would have a problem. TC-TGM-CT would be a weird name.

It's like a retarded DNA strand!

Hmm. We're still not consistent, partly because many people have long names. How about a single character in front like:

!Sully

*Sully

?Sully

Phydeaux

You mean just doing "TC" isn't doing the job?

Because I thought we were doing it so we could pull ourselves up in blockstats.

Sully
09-10-2006, 05:14 PM
We are, but TC- doesn't work for everyone. A single character would.

cdsboy

personaly i think you need the the TC tag is needed. if you run into TC-Someguy then TC-Ponzor you know they are from the same group. but if you run into *Someguy then *ponzor you'll just think they're messing with symbols

Rosti LFC

I agree it should be TC, not * or whatever, though I would have space for the single character. I can't see myself dropping the 'LFC' for TC in the near future, and I reckon I post often enough on here, and on the chat, to be recognisable anyway.
