So Amnesia is still studying in Canada and is going to try and make it down to see me one more time before he leaves the country. I've got some vacation booked from August 19th -> 25th, and with a bit more notice this time perhaps more people can make it. http://www.tetrisconcept.net/forum/images/smilies/icon_lol.gif

If anyone is flying, you'd want to go to Toronto's airport (YYZ). From there you can take public transit (first bus, then subway) to the downtown Greyhound bus station. Waterloo is then perhaps a 1-2 hour bus trip away, and I could meet you at your stop. If anyone is considering flying in, I'll make up more specific directions with maps and prices for transport and whatnot.

To paste my accomodations:

Going by the Strasbourg meeting (http://www.tetrisconcept.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=561)'s standards, I could host about 20 people. http://www.tetrisconcept.net/forum/images/smilies/icon_lol.gif Currently with just Amnesia staying here, I could host 1 person willing to share a double bed with him, and also anybody with a sleeping bag.

Accomodations include: TAP Ti Astro City arcade cabinet Supergun (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SuperGun) a fluffy kitty (http://pici.se/pictures/qDMoKWatH.jpg) a crapload of other Tetris games (http://img216.imageshack.us/img216/3712/tetrisgamesec7.jpg)So we could have 4 people playing the physical arcade games at once, and also the ability to get decent video captures.


And no guarantees, but I'll try and get TGM1 before then as well.

It would probably cost me around 8,000 SEK (1,342.86 CAD when writing this post ;P) or more to travel to Canada and live there for a couple of days. But I most probably don't have that kind of money by then. But maybe. It depends on some stuff.

Send yours to Amnesia! His noname stick is barely passable while it works... And it regularly breaks after standard use. I'm genuinely surprised he hasn't bought a real stick yet.

I have started using my VSHG again. It's just that I need to sit down properly at a table where I have the space to rest both the VSHG and my laptop. When I'm just playing a few games to occupy some time, I'll use my keyboard. The run in Special Ti wasn't intended to be anything more than just pushing myself to see how fast I could go in the first few sections while waiting for something to download, and it just turned out to be my best run.

Funny story that one. After playing Easy I was pretty happy with how well I did. After the credit roll, I was saying "Come on 500!"...... .... [game displays 498] "DAMMIT!"


Last weekend I started qualified S3. After some play I was offered a promotional exam to S4 and passed. About 5 games later I was offered a promotional exam to S5. I messed up bad and flunked.

Yeah, aside from the fact that I'm busy for the weekend of the 23rd, the cost is a pretty big factor at that time of year.

If I was over 21, I'd hire a car and maybe go for a whole month to reduce the impact of the cost of the flights, but that isn't an option.

Does anyone still talk to Millartime? I've met with him once in Toronto, and he's a very strong TDS player. I didn't have TGM3 back then so he couldn't play well with the double unfamiliarity of a joystick and TGM rotations. If nobody still talks to him I'll try sending him a PM... he'd probably want in on this too.

Frankly, I would not want to attend if it meant constantly watching my own language/behaviour, and being under the constant scrutiny of some kid's parents. (CT is not running a daycare, so they would have to be present at all times)A) He can't get in trouble if my parents come.Sure he can. I don't live in/near waterloo anymore, but I got time off work on Friday, and can camp out at my old home. So I'll be there pretty much the whole time during the indicated days.

My capabilities include high qualtiy/speed AVI encoding, a rerecording MAME (for full TAS runs) and slowdown of any Linux app (wine included) for semi-TAS runs. I like to call it "Ghett0 mode".

I will not to go to the meeting. Attending isn't a good idea for me because I don't want to party for 8 days straight while unemployed and living at home (I will be watching ESWC with friends on the 25-27). Now of course I could just skip on watching ESWC, but it seems to me that that event is very rare, while playing tetris in Waterloo has a good chance of being not so rare in the future. Hopefully I'll have a job in the area soon enough, and we'll meet in Waterloo then for some Canadian Tetris Madness.
