Tetris players get their drugs only from pharmacies approved by Dr. Mario.

okay, here's the problem. i need to make registration work so that the user has to check his email and click the authentication link. i think this would root out a lot of spam.

when i make it so that there must be email authentication, however, the authentication email never sends, and i don't know why.

"seriously we need an active mod who can just delete these posts soon after they pop up."

mind you. i check this forum probably more than anyone else here.

edit: okay, i think i figured it out. we'll see how it goes. hopefully people won't jsut suddenly stop registering.

I notice there are quite a lot of members who have been registered a long time and yet have made less than 5 posts. Are these people ever active, and just use the PM function?

It's not uncommon for boards like this to have a high lurker ratio.

At least some of them post reports of what we're talking about in 2ch's Elites Thread. (In their case, the reason they don't post is probably because they're not too confident in their English skills. I am very familiar with this sentiment, except in the reverse.)

By the way, Nicholas, are you planning to ban the spam-bots who did manage to sign up? They may not be posting anything any more, but they're still clogging up the member list with links to their websites.

I wonder if they think I'm French, like Rosti-LFC though. :p http://www.tetrisconcept.net/forum/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif

To be fair, it could easily be a French word I've never come across. I always pronounced it right in my head, I just never linked it to the word 'fido'.

By definition, being NSiders is stupid and defies all rational logic.

So now the circle is complete.

Being an Tetris playing NSider, I don't comprehend this 'circle' shape you speak of. Only the shapes of Tetrominoes.

Incidentally, they more than likely got their name from the same place I got mine.

As a native French speaker, I never linked them either. http://www.tetrisconcept.net/forum/images/smilies/icon_razz.gif It's pronounced like fee-dough.

Which is how "fido" was pronounced in Latin.

Tepples, I played someone yesterday called 'lockjaw'. At first I crapped myself because I thought it was you with a reset rating (the player had 0 wins and a 5000 rating). Is there any Tetris based history behind the name?

tepples

LOCKJAW:

It's a compound word whose initials are L and J, the names of tetrominoes. "Tetris" sounds like Tet (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tetanus) and its characteristic symptom Tris (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trismus), also called lockjaw (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lockjaw). Vadim Gerasimov's Tetris page (http://vadim.oversigma.com/Tetris.htm) claims that Alexey's game was called Genetic Engineering at one time during development, and there was an old cloudmakers ARG (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alternate_Reality_Game) called Lockjaw whose plot revolved around genetic engineering.
