You should feel ridiculously lucky for your grade and your survival through 900-999. Your stacking needs a lot of work if you're only getting 22 tetrises out of the whole game, I would suggest playing more death mode to familiarize yourself with fast 20G. Speedwise, 9:33 is decent. You should be able to easily cut 10 seconds off the first half and 20 off the second.

As Ai said, the game showed some promise. Learn to recover faster in 20G and S9 will come easily. Cut a minute off your game and M should be doable as well.

That's what I also thought, but in a recent Gm screenshots from rednefed the requirement wasn't met on different occasions. Still, you could be right since DeHackEd used an old Texmaster version with more bugs.

Haha, "more bugs," I think the count is consistent across the board -- it's just in what way they are manifested. Game mechanics? Sound? Crashing? :v There is bound to be something not quite right in each version, and I much prefer the lesser evils I know.

And in what is probably the same Texmaster version DeHackEd did get Gm (http://tetrisconcept.net/forum/showpost.html?p=40295&postcount=277) when he reached the end for the first time. So the bug still exists.

Only 3 levels higher than my previous record, but man, what a strong and confident game; I didn't even bother checking my time as I approached 500 because I knew I was going to smash the torikan.

sudden 500 speed is also nothing much to me; just need to be able to survive for 500 levels of it without losing control and keep on stacking intelligently without trying to do too many fancy things...(though honestly at the rate I've been going, i'm just going to end up learning how to do those fancy things second-nature at higher speeds...)

Looking back it's amazing that I got my first M in April and still struggle with this (I think I have also only 3 Sudden M's by now and one death M). I guess I just ran lucky back then whereas these days I'm more consistent.

Can anyone tell me what times my halves ultimately have to be? I believe I can rush through the first half in 5:00, but then again, my 500-999 is around 4:00 most of the time.
Even 5:00 + 3:45 would barely be enough, so what times do you guys suggest?

Great time improvement. Like you indicate a time very close to (and preferably under) 5 minutes for the first part is absolutely necessary. This forces you to get a time near 03:45 for the second part. Good luck! ^^

Ok, here is my record for the SICKEST TGM MODE EVER.
I also had a 9:2x where I was at the the bottom, prepared for a tetris on the right (about 993), throwing in the centre and locking every piece coming until the I, misdropped, blocked the opening, tried to make another line at the top and still managed to lose.:mad:
My last attempt today was one more tragedy. 1st half 5:17 (my best) and in 2nd half the dealer dealt me the most inconvenient pieces ever until I quitted full of disgust.
ps1. How the hell do make sub65 in 0-110 so easily. I'm struggling to get a 1:06-1:08 and when I do so the next section is always near 1:10.

What are you playing on, keyboard or stick?

I'm a keyboard player and went through the same trouble until I realized that you have to slide your finger from UP to DOWN instead of hitting UP, lifting your finger and then hitting DOWN. After this "epiphany" I could clear 0-100 in less than 1:05:00 most of the time. On keyboard you can even press both UP and DOWN simultaneously to instantly drop and lock a piece (this can be combined with IRS!). This works both in Texmaster and TAP. It's espescially useful during ARE, because technically you don't waste any time with the upcoming piece. The only downsides are that it messes with your rhythm and that it may feel weird dependent on your setup.

Edit: Also, I found out that during the first sections it doesn't hurt that much to take a few singles or doubles if necessary as long as you keep a fast rhythm.

Progress the last 2 weeks was good. Hopefully I'll be m in Texmaster Special before the end of the year. For TAP Master m somewhere next year is more realistic. Gm grade is still a distant dream I'm afraid. The last time I played invisible tetris is years ago and maybe 3 hours total. I think the longest I survived during m-roll practice is a little over 40 seconds. I will eventually practice for Gm, but I'm not expecting much to be honest. ^^

Except the problem of timings on Tex for emulating TAP, there are also a significant problem with the grade jauge. S9 is way too easy to reach on special mode.
I could never suggest you enough to use the latest MAME with a well adjusted input lag for TAP.

I was already S7 at 830. My problem at the moment is not the grade but the time. I can't lock very fast and this mode is too painful for the hands to play more than one game.

I thought I might as well post this here since it seems to fit better than anywhere else.

Last night I had my first ever dream about playing Tetris. The only thing I remember was that it was Texmaster Sudden, and I got torikan-stopped at level 500. The time was something like 20+ minutes for some reason.

(My actual record in Texmaster Sudden is 394, which was probably a fluke as I've never been able to break 350 after that for a few months. Stupid difficulty spike at 300...)
