it might help if you try holding your first piece regardless. if you place a few pieces before using hold for the first time it can throw off your rhythm with seeing the previews because you're taking 2 pieces from the previews and only placing 1. but if you hold the first piece, you're doing it before you get into a rhythm. and it becomes easier after the first hold because you're always making 1 placement per preview whether you use hold or not.

One advice deepdorp..

This game is stupid, try to follow the required conditions and you will be rewarded by a bit higher grad..

It is important to well know your current limit an abilities, for example, judging by your time, you should be able to valid the 3 or 4 first section time conditions to get 3 or 4 grads..

Then try to valid the 2 first tetris conditions :

3 on the 0-100

6 on the 100-199..


Then, when the game is a bit too fast for you, try to perform quietly the 4 required tetris by sections, or try to increase your speed to valid few required section time..


Don't hesitate to keep in mind the list of condition in the wiki when you are playing..

Agreed. If I can survive long enough to get three consecutive section COOLs without using hold, Amnesia (or "TAP Master #3") can most definitely get through the whole game with all section cools and a high internal grade using hold.


Also, keep in mind that only section COOLs matter in regards to your grade. Tetris COOLs and Special COOLs are just for show.

On Ti and Texmaster, there are three grade modifiers.


1. The Internal Grade Points will get you up to 17 grades, which is enough to go from 9-S9. It's almost exactly the same as in TAP.


2. The section COOLs will get you up to 9 grades, because one isn't given out in 900-999. This is the only COOL that will advance your grade. This, combined with the grade points, will get you up to 26 grades, which is enough to get you from 9-m9.


3. The staff roll will further boost your grade based on your performance and based on whether it's disappearing or invisible. This will get you from Master to Grandmaster.


That's it. Heboris G4 is totally different, because it was created before anyone knew anything about Ti's grading system.


So basically, if you can get the M-roll in TAP, you have a very good chance of getting m9 and the invisible staff roll in Ti and Texmaster.

Tetris COOL

A "Tetris COOL" appears when the player has made Tetrises in excess of a certain number of times. The required number is 3 times for 0-99, 6 times in 100-199, and 4 times for all subsequent sections. Tetrises that span across sections are not counted for the previous section or the new section. This means that for a Tetris to count towards a Tetris COOL, the player would need to make the move by level *93.


A Tetris COOL can be triggered twice in the 0-99 section if the player makes 6 Tetrises, double the number required to get it once. In other sections it is practically impossible to make double the number of required Tetrises.

A "Section COOL" appears at around, but not exactly on, level *80 when the player has reached level *70 within a specific time. It may appear right before a piece spawn, or along with a line clear.


It is strongly suspected that the player's grade is incremented by 1 when he triggers a section COOL, and then enters the next section. The grade increment occurs not when the COOL is triggered, but upon the section change following it. As an exception, a section COOL does not appear in the 900-999 section.

Curiously, Bou increased his DRS rank on Heboris since I told him how to have the tetris cool..I also got my m2 on texmaster in following at my best the tetris conditions..

Keep in mind that a tetris advances your level by 6 in Ti, so if you're going for a tetris COOL and you're playing fairly fast, then you're naturally going to get the section COOL as well.


Also, the lock delay indicator at the bottom of the screen will turn blue around *80 or so if you get a section COOL. In all cases, the speed curve skipped a section whenever I succeeded.


One more thing: In Ti, the grade increment takes effect on a section COOL only if you complete the section. In Texmaster, the grade increment is immediate (so when the lock delay indicator turns blue, your grade should instantly go up by one).

You have to get the original, non-U.E. Heboris and unzip hebomini on top of it. Then use the plugins program to select "plugins_extra\master_extra.c". Then run HEBORIS.EXE.

If I understand this right, doesn't the level 000-070 require a time of less than 52 seconds? If so, that's not really a demanding task in my opinion. Even with my horrible firm dropping finesse and imperfect line clears due to misdrops, I passed x70 with a midfield stack with many seconds to spare in Special Ti.

the point is that if your stack is low, and you score more tetrises, you will reach 070 faster then if the stack is high, given the same placement speed. It makes a few seconds difference.


And that is the most demanding of the section cools to hit, as the lower ARE in the later levels allows for faster play, especially when you skip to the next sections speed curve.

I still believe having a low stack at x70 to be very important as I cannot seem to get that first section cool without it, but i now know that as long as you aren't clearing lots of singles, section regrets are simply a non issue, as long as you aren't stuck at the level stop, and stacking high before you get there helps you on the section cool for the NEXT level.

But what's a flaw? Is infinity a flaw in TDS? What about the T-spin garbage balancing (or alleged lack thereof)? Or CT's "playing forever" pattern?

If an expert does anything he can to win, then does he exploit bugs in the game? The answer is a resounding yes. The player cannot be bothered to interpret the will of the game designer as far as which moves are “fair” and which moves are not, or which moves were intended and which moves weren’t. It’s irrelevant anyway. The player knows only moves that lead to winning and moves that don’t.


You have to carefully define which exploits you are going to block (http://www.sirlin.net/ptw/intermediates-guide/what-should-be-banned), and they "must be enforceable, discrete, and warranted." Judging by the time, you aren't really manual locking much. That's a sign that you're almost overcoming that speed, but are a bit short. If my guess is correct, you're having trouble at about level 100? Try that same ARE/Line Delay/DAS in Heboris's practice mode with higher lock delay. Once you can start manual locking at that speed, low the lock delay. Work from here to the full fledged Shirase 100 speeds. Once you're manual locking there, tackle Texmaster. This training may take a while, but believe me, it's beneficial.

I consider "60" to be the mark where you'll generally die if you can't handle the speed. If you can't get past x60 very often, then you can't cope with the pace at x00.

TI's grader is MUCH more harsh then TAP.


With TAP you merely have to play consistently, and play a solid game, and stack cleanly.


With TI you have to play an EXCEPTIONAL game from beginning to end.

I would like to know now if it is a rumor from one people here or if you have a solid source..From my few researches and estimations, I prefer admit that there is more around 50 TAP Gm or less, than 100..

I have the logical explanation about Ghetto !!

His anormal fast improvement can be explained by the simple fact that he was a very very strong TDS player, so his 2 weeks of insane improvement were in fact a period of adaptation of SRS to ARS..

In Tetris for NES, the DAS delay is about 15 frames, but ARE is 10 frames.


As far as I can tell, 20G is playable as long as 1. DAS delay isn't longer than lock delay plus half of ARE, and 2. ARE is long enough to get an IRS in. So in that section of Shirase, ARE can be so short because lock delay is long enough.

30 seconds means you're shaving off 6 seconds a section, which is astronomical improvemen over a very brief period of time.


Also, did you forget that not that long ago you weren't even hitting the torikan not even a month ago?


In other words, replays or it didn't happen. Preferably with hands and a live recorded performance so we can be absolutely sure that you weren't TASing the shit outta this. And if the video is unclear, it doesn't count as a video at all. Get to it, now, kiddo. Shouldn't be too far beyond your reach now, should it?


In slightly more positive news, congrats on your sudden performance, Digital! 900 is a huge accomplishment--I hope to see you close in on the finish soon. =)

Yeah, I do try to aim for tetrises but then I shift mindsets when I start misdropping. I have to mention that I do stack a lot cleaner on Heboris (MINI) for some reason with settings akin to that of Texmaster. I feel more likely to misdrop in Texmaster and thus cannot focus as well on stability and speed.

and recompile.

TGM sections are about 30 lines long. Shaving six seconds off a section is like shaving eight seconds off a 40 lines run.

Tetris is not a sport where you can simply try harder and progress better. Everyone advances at their own pace, and, short of shifting your focus to the right thing, there's very little you can do to accelerate the process.

It's a private video. I had to hide it because it would have been swept away along with all the other deleted Texmaster videos. All my Heboris ones were destroyed while I was sleeping.
