BUT, i was able to play "In Flight TETRIS" and... well i will post some screen camera shot, and a video. YES i've filmed a fucking video. i definitly looked for the ultimate geek for the woman side seat, but i think it's worth it.

i will take the time to completely explain the filmed bug witch is incredible to see this in an "official licenced TTC game"

From what I've heard about in-flight Tetris, it's pretty bad. You don't even send garbage in the multiplayer mode. It's just whoever loses first.

That said, I think a flight with crap Tetris is better than a flight with no Tetris http://www.tetrisconcept.net/forum/images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif

Yoshh,

i compiled a video from the first meeting in Akiba :

http://fr.youtube.com/watch?v=XcSbM1ho20o

KAN's face is blurred (even if we still can't clearly see his face) by privacy respect.

777 player is really incredible T__T and i still try to break sub 10min...

and an incredible inflight tetris bug :

about the gameplay :

up -> rotate left

down-> rotate right (or maybe invert i don't remember well

a button for soft drop

a button for hard drop

the spawn piece orientation is very wierd :

- the next orientation is not matching the spawn orientation

- hold button will reorient the piece differently from next piece presentation and "of course" spawn again the piece differently...

a kind of SRS but i can't confirm it... but T-Spin Triple don't works

lock reset work "maybe" 10 times but not much more

about the bug :

simply pressing HOLD button at the end of the line clear animation will switch the piece "already locked piece", but the previously locked one that should come will be overwrited by the one on the "next Queue" and definitly LOST.... letting buggy garbage on screen... but it's just a "displaying bug"....

maybe i don't explain well so just watch the video :

http://fr.youtube.com/watch?v=oirsOQQMylE

so i let you dissert about the utility of "guidelines" control quality...

wasn't able to test VS

imo the button layout is completely shity since the joypad look's like a SNES clone PAD and definitly have a lot of button available...

i have received my arcade stick yesterday (at last), i can start some heboris training http://www.tetrisconcept.net/forum/images/smilies/icon_razz.gif

so far i've totalized ~80 plays on Ti :

- master mode qualified s6 (no change since the beginning) and the best is still m7.

- SHIRASE : s5

i've played maybe max 10 time in this mode (this is just sucking money so far) but last game, i've reached lvl 500 torikan in 3min00sec. Very slow if the limit is 2min25. but at least reached one time http://www.tetrisconcept.net/forum/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif

I studied japanese at college so I should know...couldn't tell at first, but I just realized (duh!) it says "Jyago-san" which in english is pronounced simply "Jago". the san is a polite ending like Mr. or monsieur.

Don't feel bad.. I was playing Tetris DS last night, and stumbled upon a very equally matched Japanese opponent (usually opponents are either too easy or too hard):

win win win win lose lose lose lose lose lose win lose win win player disconnected

That straight row of losses made me play even worse, and I was about to go mental. And just as I was picking up speed the guy hung up on me. I literally shouted at my DS, saying something about chickening out just while I was winning again.

Yeah, the taste can't be 100% accurate unless you reverse engineer the ingredients. But because of the encryption used, and the relatively young age of Fanta Grape, nobody has been willing to attempt to copy the ingredients perfectly. Maybe in two years...

I never thought I'd see the day when Tetrisconcept completely ignored a Ti machine to discuss a soft drink.

Choose Life. Choose a job. Choose a career. Choose a family.

Choose a fucking big television, choose washing machines, cars, compact disc players and electrical tin openers.

Choose good health, low cholesterol, and dental insurance. Choose fixed interest morgage repayments.

Choose a starter home. Choose your friends. Choose leisure-wear and matching luggage.

Choose a three-piece suite on hire purchase in a range of fucking fabrics. Choose DIY and wondering who the fuck you are on a Sunday morning.

Choose sitting on that couch watching mind-numbing, spirit-crushing game shows, stuffing fucking junk food into your mouth.

Choose rotting away at the end of it all, pishing your last in a miserable home, nothing more than an embarrasment to the selfish, fucked up brats you spawned to replace yourself.

Choose your future. Choose life. But why would I want to do a thing like that?

in other words, i bet you'll probably never recall of this place when you'll get older as i am http://www.tetrisconcept.net/forum/images/smilies/icon_lol.gif

look i've got a Fanta grape on my table. So refreshing, so exciting, but why don't they release it worldwide ? this flavor don't exist in France...

Just a question, but is that a supergun under that table?

Supergun being what you could use to run an arcade PCB on a TV/PC.

Im saving for one.

That's actually the Type X machine. Though I believe he has a supergun sitting on top of the Type X, which you can just barely see the bottom of.

Does Ti run at a higher scan rate than the 15.7 kHz typical of JAMMA? Or do newer Dell monitors sync down to 15.7 kHz? Or is there a line doubler between them?

The Type-X has a standard DVI output and ships with a DVI to D-Sub adapter. If you want to hook it up to an arcade monitor you need a signal converter in between, so having it hooked up to a flat panel would actually mean you're using the "native" output. Also, Ti outputs 640x480@60Hz.

Yep, all true. To answer tepple's question more directly, Ti uses a scan rate of 31 kHz and the JVS -> JAMMA converter turns it into some sort of 15.7 kHz signal with a mild but obvious loss in visual quality.

The reason why I asked is because I wanna play Mushihimesama-Futari.

And its arcade only.

And I have a good amount of money saved right now.

hello dudes,
So finally this japan Trip is about to come at end.
i have to get back to France no later than 17th March. Am i happy or not to get back home ? it depend of the point of view.

But right now i want to talk about the last event i participed, and that was simply Heaven on Earth for any TGM player.
First of all, we were misunderstanding : the event wasn't organised by ARIKA and Mihara didn't showed up. But to be honest it was not important because the meeting itself was incredible enough to forget about him.

You had to be there.

They were 2 cab on the scene, annoucers, 3 big screens, and powerful sono.

So basiquely this was a "Best players" show demonstration.
- MOM, followed by BOS.U showed Ti Easy mode. (1300+)
- 777 was playing TGM1. (9min12)
- jin8 and Kan -> Ti master Mode (Master M)
- 309 from Osaka -> Death mode, he played death mode 1 handed, and even took an incoming phone call during play....
- SAL played TAP big mode (it is really difficult), and performed a chess board drawing (tetris art as secret grade stuff)
- AYA and ZAB -> Ti Shirase (s13)

so this was a realllllllllly fucking great show.
i was not allowed to take much picture (to respect players express request and privacy no publication sorry) and no video, but there will probably be a dvd release of the event (maybe).

ps : i'm not exactly sure about all result performance, i will at least try to find out some picture, but right now i haven't check the content of my camera and i have no time (accessing at work).

Darn, no video. Ah well, at least you tried jago. I'm kind of disappointed that there was no major announcement. I guess being able to witness all these crazy players demo live is pretty crazy in its own right. Needle gave us live updates during the event and it sounded really exciting. Hopefully we can somehow see a few of the performances.

On the Tetris front your trip is a huge success that's for sure. It would be nice if you told us more about your overall impressions of your stay. Oh and have a safe trip back home to France! ^^

I wish I could have been there. That must have been an awesome experience! Hopefully some kind of video will be available and if so keep us up to date.

These guys can perform at the highest level at will it seems and playing Death T.A. one-handed while on the phone is insane! o.0
