$5 per 4 entrants, so it's not a massive prize for the winner, but it's not too bad. Registration is free though, and it's the taking part that counts anyway, isn't it? http://www.tetrisconcept.net/forum/images/smilies/icon_razz.gif
I'm going to try and make sure that this one at least comes to a finish. Sure there's at least a few people from this place that will sign up.

I'll try it out just for kicks. Because I know good and well that I'll get smashed. Heh, this will be fun.

Providing we don't get an unexpected appearance from NOAH or Samaf or someone, my money is on DIGITAL to win. Hopefully I'll be shooting for a top 4 place though.

I'm sort of hoping a few people will join up from elsewhere, even if it's just to make up numbers. I've posted about this at a few places.
Feel free to tell people about it if you want guys. The more the merrier.

If you wouldn't mind, I could try asking around on tetrisivorytower to see if I can get a few players to join. Possibly much more than a few if it takes off.

Providing they can speak English to a reasonable extent, go for it.

I know a couple of people there that can speak quite well. I asked yoshihiro to notify T, the owner of the site, about the tournament. With some luck, we may book a lot of high profile matches.
By the way, I just played DSH who registered for the tournament already. It seems we have already attracted some strong players.

I'd love to enter this, but I'd have to set wi-fi up at home first. What do you guys think about using 56k dial-up for TDS wi-fi, would it be OK?
Also how do you pay? Is it via Pay Pal as I dunno if I could do that way and I can't think of another way.

Prize money will be given to the winner through electronic transfer. If you're not happy with that, or it's not possible for you, then we'll try and get it to you in the form of Amazon vouchers, or whichever alternative method that you suggest.

OK thanks, I completely misread everything. I thought there was a $5 fee to enter or something. Can someone help me with my wi-fi as I do plan on doing well?

A few days left for anyone wanting to sign up. 17 players so far.
If anyone is late, then I might let them enter, but no promises. Once I've drawn up the pairings for the matches, I won't accept anyone else to enter.

There's also another video of Blink vs. Z-Flo (really intense game), but that'll have to wait because no one's willing to slice the video to fit youtube's limit or upload it for that matter.

The fourth set was really funny. Zemus was just egging me to finish because his batteries were dying but I went and did the opposite. So it was prolonged another set where I regained my focus and coordination after a 15 minute break.

That was some nice playing, Digital.
You should play at Tetris Zone, unless you already do. I bet you'd do well.

am i missing something or are these players playing very slowly?
(please go easy on me if i'm missing something obvious - i'm a relative noob)

TDS has a slow DAS repeat rate and so players have to tap for maximum speed. Caith and DSH are playing relatively fast with this limitation and with the division of most of the work on the thumbs. It's still possible to play very fast but it puts a lot of strain on the thumbs.

They used to be on nintendowifi.com, but the leaderboard hasn't worked for well over a year.

The drop rate looked fairly slow, i'm not cussing, just saying that when i play I drop the bricks much quicker.
Saying that, i can't tspin so thats something my brain isn't preparing for/slowing play down for. Damn, i'll try to get a video of me playing some tds up this weekend.

@ work but opened up a bit of set three.. first couple of seconds looked fast. That is about the speed I can now play at when i'm on absolute top form.
I'm starting to win vs matches now on lvl4 within 20 seconds.
