I'm tired of wasting energy on this, so I'll just get it out in the open and let you guys decide. A bunch of people say we should ban him for good. If there's strong enough reason, I'll consider it.

Interested in Tetris and wants to learn more

Fairly active player


Cons

Constantly accused of being a liar

Tends to flame the place up

Accused of breaking the forum's TOS in regards to age.


I don't like "modding" unless it's completely necessary and definitely in the best interest of the forum and its purpose. If you ask me, banning active Tetris players that want to improve ain't really my thing.

He's mainly funny to watch and poke when he's on IRC, but there's a reason we keep him out in the Blockstats chatroom and not in #arika. Too much attention and it just gets tiresome. With the whole 55fps thing this is starting to look more and more like trolling, cause he loves the attention.

the only problem i really have is when he answers questions without really knowing what he's talking about. sometimes it's obvious he's made it up, but i'm sure it isn't always obvious to the person asking the question. sure everybody gives bad information sometimes, but we try to have the right answer before speaking up, and in many cases we back it up with info from the wiki or some other reputable source.


when somebody responds with information to a topic they don't know anything about, it seems to me like they just want attention.

Please consider a special group with posting limitation, so he can still follow tc's development, and maybe in the future he'll decide to come back and behave. Banning should only be used when there is a threat of security, or extreme behaviour.

The only one thing you have to do is : staying a bit more quiet, less excited, continu to submit some score even if lot people, (like me) have some doubt, one day, things will calm down.

Yes, because it's fairly evident you aren't "really good at Heboris".


Remember about two and a half months ago when you couldn't pass the Heboris G4 torikan? And now you're almost clearing it in the same time that it took you to hit the torikan?


It's rediculous improvement like that that has everyone crying foul.


Even with tetlag, you'd still see a fairly consistent performance across a few different situations--for instance, in my case, despite how my much SRS skills are much better than my ARS skills, I've still got S8 in TGM1 and S7 in TAP alongside my Master in HeboG4.


In other words, your extreme level of improvement suggests only two possibilities: cheating, or TASing. While the latter is entertaining (look at TASvideos if you don't believe me), trying to compare a TASed score to a realtime score is essentially the equivalent of cheating.


Just my cent and a quarter.

TC relies a great deal on the honor system as far as records go so it seems best to just have people post records and if they choose to lie then that is up to them. I relatively new to TC myself and I advise you, as someone who would rather not see you banned, try to be polite in your posts and use others as an example of what is acceptable behavior on TC. I really have no problem with you being here but you have brought a lot of negative attention on yourself. I hope you aren't banned though.

The thing is, Ghett0 has already abused the honour system. He's posted a TAS before, initially saying it was real before admitting it was a cheat.

If someone like Jujube or mufunyo or Kitaru showed such a massive improvement over such a tiny space of time, I'd be pretty amazed by it. Maybe some suspicion would creep in, but I'd probably accept their scores as valid because their track record is clean.

Ghett0 doesn't have that luxury. I'm not prepared to give the benefit of the doubt to someone who has already done the same thing before. And it's a pretty huge doubt. Not that age is all important, but he's nine years old, and has gone from where I was 12 or 18 months ago to being a better player than I am. In the space of a few weeks.

All things considered, I'm just not going to buy that.

I am picking on no-one. And I only lied ONCE.
This is a lie in its own, here are a couple of lies from the top of my head:

He posted a thread where he said he had added support for Ti into mame, and a bit down in the thread he confidently stated the following:

Then we have the time where he said he was a TA Death GM..

He later admitted that it was a TAS.

And on the subject of mutiplayer TDS strategies..

My strategy is T-spin triples (I can pull them off fast as heck) and then I either go for another or start tetrising.

It is, in fact, quite slow.. and he would've topped out already against a good player.

Then we have a case of him slowing down the game, and only later stating that he did. He doesn't trust the game and instead he's modding the game to adhere to "facts" he have made up or read somewhere (or so he says).

That's like saying you'll have a drinking contest but only if you don't get drunk. There's always lag. Electrons have to travel hundreds or thousands of miles to deliver gameplay data from players to the server and back. So I'll count that as dodging a challenge. If you're not a good enough player to handle lag, it means you're probably a worse player than I am, and I admit I'm really bad (and my records show that).

Since it has been necro'd, i'm going to bring up the point that the general consensus was the since option no winning, and each of the 3 other option were spread out. Technically speaking no won. Also, your right a month has passed and during that month he proved (to me atleast) that the one reason i had for banning him was not really true. I personally voted yes, and give him one month. So if we're going to bring up the topic of ghett0 getting banned again, i'd have to say its only fair if we have a new vote, that runs for a set amount of time. Here's my stance on this: I think some people are being more lenient on him because of his age. Put it this way: if anyone else were posting in such a disruptive manner, lying, being abrasive, etc. etc. etc., would they not have been banned by now? If we want to treat him fairly, then fine. We'll throw age completely out of the equation. I still think his behavior is disruptive and that alone makes it difficult to convince me that he should stay.


In summary: I don't think he should stay, at least not until he can get his act cleaned up and stop with all of the useless/obviously false/TASing/etc/etc/etc crap.

Here's my stance on this: I think some people are being more lenient on him because of his age. Put it this way: if anyone else were posting in such a disruptive manner, lying, being abrasive, etc. etc. etc., would they not have been banned by now? If we want to treat him fairly, then fine. We'll throw age completely out of the equation. I still think his behavior is disruptive and that alone makes it difficult to convince me that he should stay.

Case in point:

Or they feel that it isn't within their jurisdiction to decide who the honour system accepts and refuses. I think if you personally asked each one the result would be different.

An ultimatum is a demand backed up by a threat. The "v" stands for "versus".

Even though his age is brought up as reason enough alone, even a 4 year break wouldn't benefit him. He's persistently been a liar, a cheat, and a mediocre tetris player and I really don't see that changing anytime soon. His recent behaviour is enough to make me regret my vote, and want to change it to "permaban the fuck out of this waste of bandwidth".

i guess you've forgotten what that reason is. i thought your TASing was in the past, but just a few weeks ago you were trying to trade texmaster TAS secrets to somebody for whatever. i don't want to get into specifics, but you know what i'm talking about. why would you say something like that, then expect people to believe your scores are real? combine that with your big jumps in skill over a short period of time and yeah i'm suspicious.


i tried to help you setup hebo netplay again (which was working for you in the past). i spent 30 minutes a few days ago and another 20 minutes last night, and you're still showing on the server as using the wrong version number. unless you've deleted the pm's i've sent, you have the download link for beta8 and one for my network.ini file which is all you need to get it working like you did before, so you can play with people using the current version. if it's so important to you to be on the leaderboard, don't you want to play against some people and prove all of this TAS talk (which you started again out of the blue) is just a bad joke?

They aren't Tex TAS secrets. It's something very well know called Cheat Engine.


@Jago : I am well aware of it showing up as MK. How ever, there was a glitch DIGITAL was speaking about in another thread that causes the grade to show up one less at the end of the game/replay.

For the record, I still think he should get banned. He hasn't done anything to change my opinion since this thread started. We have busted him cheating and lying countless times and he still hasn't as much as apologized for his behaviour or even amditted to any wrongdoing.


So yeah, he clearly isn't interested in bettering himself. And hence, I'm not interested in keeping him around - on the contrary I quite strongly feel he shouldn't be around.
